90 day reporting now available at all 7-Eleven outlets in Thailand

BANGKOK:-- A spokesperson for the Immigration Bureau has announced that from today, foreigners will be able to complete their 90 day report at any 7-Eleven outlet in Thailand.

This follows the recent announcement from Immigration that foreigners can also now complete their 90 day report online.

Speaking at the launch event held at the immigration offices in Chaengwattana, Bangkok, Immigration chief Pol Col Somchai Wittiporn said: “this new service is being launched in preparation to Thailand’s integration with the ASEAN community”.

“We also want to make it easier for the aliens who stay in Thailand for a long time”.

“We know that many foreigners like to buy their cheap beer and bread and also collect the stamps from 7-Eleven, so it was our idea that they can also do their 90 day reporting when they visit their favourite store”.

Pol Col Somchai explained that in order to complete their 90 day report at 7-Eleven, foreigners will need to hand their passport, 4 passport photos and the TM47 form to 7-Eleven staff who will then scan the relevant information into the new system.

Pol Col Somchai also confirmed that due to some minor technical issues 7-Eleven staff are currently unable to issue a confirmation receipt for any 90 day report completed in store.

However, whilst the problem is being rectified and as a gesture of goodwill, Pol Col Somchai has instructed staff to issue any foreigner who completes their day 90 report at 7-Eleven during the month of April with twenty complimentary 7-Eleven stamps courtesy of the Immigration Bureau.

Yes you can do many things @7/11. 90 day report i do not think so. You go to immigration for your annual renewal, and they say you never report. I do it @7/11 where is your receipt, sorry they not

  • Is it true that if we complete the 7-Eleven booklet with colored stamps, instead of a stupid umbrella we can have an addionnal 3 months visa?

  • Only one photo actually gets sent to immigration. The other three end up in the 7-Eleven girls' wallets.

Not a good idea for farangs , to many things to go wrong. You are reliant on a cashier who is not interested in doing things to help you

I just read on the immigration site that the 90 day receipt will have a special color stamp on it which will allow forang to buy beer at any time of the day or night.

If you fill 2 booklets you'll get a free one year multiple entry tourist visa. That's what I've heard :P

If you complete enough booklets (I believe they've pegged the number at 75 at the moment), you automatically get residency and citizenship ... and for those that are married, if you complete 99 booklets, you get to own the land your own house is built on for 1 year.

But, but, but....

Is the online reporting even functioning yet?

I bet they'll microwave my passport.

Most of the 12 girls who work at my local 7/11 do not speak a word of English.

This may be difficult for those who do not speak Thai!

Thats great ;) and the fingerprints are taken from the banknotes or the whiskeybottles?

Great news, but I at my 7-11 they didnt understand it when I handed my passport. I told them clearly 90 days! Funny thing that actually gave me 90 baht.

I did mine this morning on second road 711 in Pattaya, the system works well, no hassle and no traffic at that hour

Well the 90 day online reporting launched today also seems to be a joke also.

Certainly not working yet, at least for a couple of people who have tried!

This WILL be great, when they can provide a receipt. I won't use it until then. It there were at least a way to check it online with Immigration to verify it, I'd be happy. Meanwhile, I'll hope to see some posts from folks who have successfully used the official online report that should be working now. ... Anybody used it?

The report omitted that you can now buy cheap beer & Mama noodles at immigrations as a sort of quid pro quo. But I'm pretty sure both deals will only be available to Thai Visa Newbies.

I pity the 7-Eleven counter staff for the next few days.

You can file them with any street beggar on Sukhumvit and get the same service.

I just did my 90 day report at 7-11....not too hard...and pretty fast...but there was a 10 baht fee not mentioned in the article.

The staff said they also hope to be able to issue income letters and retirement extensions of stay by 1 Aug...marriage extension of stays by 1 Oct (will need 8 pictures of you and the wife around the home)...fee would be approx Bt100.
