CHIANG MAI: -- Police Monday arrested a 64-year-old Briton in Chiang Mai's Mueang district and charged him with buying sex from two Thai teenage boys under 18.

Simon Jeremy Merington Briscore was arrested at his house after the two boys, who are 16 years old, filed complaints with police that the Briton failed to honour his promise to pay them Bt500 each for sex.

Police also found a lot of pornography of underage boys in his computer.

There is big bench of farangs all white who are real hazard to kids not only in Thailand but in so many touristic destinations exploiting poor kids and destroying life's as much as terrorist groups. Thai government must pay attention, since there are so many studies available on paedophiles profile.

Ex catholic priest?

No. English simply.
Be careful with sophistry and easy generalizations. You could be also a victim in return.

Pleased the perv has been apprehended.

Now all that's needed is a conviction and substantial Thai jail sentence,

Would it not be an easy generalisation to suggest that he is English?

Hmm, the boys were not upset about having sex with a 64 yo Brit, but went to the police when they weren't paid for the service... TiT after all...

CHIANG MAI: POLICE yesterday arrested a British national for allegedly sexually abusing two 16-year-old Thai boys.

The suspect has been identified as Simon Jeremy Merington Briscore, 64. He owns several businesses in Chiang Mai province, where he settled last year.

"The two boys lodged a complaint against him," said Pol Colonel Worapong Khamleu, a superintendent at the Provincial Police Region 5.

According to the complaint, Briscore refused to pay the victims Bt500 for sexual services. Police also found that the suspect's male lover had recorded the intercourse for blackmailing purposes.

It is illegal in Thailand to have sex with persons below the age of 18 even if it is consensual.

Police said they found solid evidence against Briscore in his house and further investigation revealed that the suspect had engaged in similar offences in Britain.

Suspected British paedophile arrested in Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI: -- A suspected British paedophile was arrested by police in Chiang Mai on Monday on child sex abuses.
The suspect was identified by police as Simon Jeremy Merington Brisko, 64.

Acting on complaints that an elderly foreigner was regularly seen approaching underaged males from computer game shops in Patu Tha Pae in Chiang Mai and bringing them to a house in Soi 7, Tambon Chang Phoek and, later on, posting images of their sex scenes in the social media, a police team was assigned to conduct an investigation.

Police managed to get hold of three teenagers who claimed they used to have sex with the Briton and was paid 500 baht a time.

Police on Monday raided the suspect’s rented home and seized his computer which was found to have stored over 2,000 VDO clips of child sex abuses.

The suspect was detained for further questioning but he denied all the charges against him.

Pol Col Worapong Kamlue, superintendent of Region 5 provincial police, however, said that the suspect used to be arrested in Britain in 1990 and 2005 on charges on child sex abuses before he settled down in Thailand.

Article is pretty clear he is British. Says nothing about his occupation or retirement status. Just another bum off the street.

Granted..British does not clearly mean he is from England..as other countries fall into that realm.

Born In Chelmsford. He's English alright. Makes no difference, scum is scum no matter where it comes from. May prison be a place of karma and reflection for him.

That's what I said isn't it?

That previously unknown knowledge makes every difference to the discussion you are replying to.

What terrifies me is that his photo and real name is now publicly exposed without any process or maybe even an evidence. That would not happen in civilized country right ?

His life in Chiang Mai is finished even if he is not guilty.

He owns several businesses and is easy to have enemies just because of that. He could be simply a victim of some threat.

I wish him all the worst if he is guilty, but I would wait before I throw stones on him.

... wait a minute. Two boys went to the police, admitting that they are providing illegal sexual services, and all of this just for 500 baht ? Something is missing here ...

Name and shame in Australia and paraded around on the six a clock news for all too see.

There was a really bad Pedophile sent to a Perth prison about 10 years ago, he tampered with the wrong child and as such, he was accidentally released into the exercise yard one day, with the main population and was subsequently stabbed to death within about two minutes of setting foot in the yard

If the guy did what he's accused of, then he broke the Thai law and what may follow.

But based on the news reports, it wasn't just the Brit who was buying. It was also the teen-age boys who were selling.

AFAIK in Thailand, it's equally illegal for minors to engage in prostitution by providing sex for money.

A comparable analogy would be, you go buy illegal drugs from someone on the street, take them home, and discover they're fakes. Then you go to the police to file a complaint that the drug dealer ripped you off and want your money back. How far are you going to get with that???

These people should be banned from travel, at least in the UK there is a certain level of kowledge and control of this sick individual were his activities can be controlled and monitored

Thailand need to request a full list of convicted sex offenders from the EU and see how many of them are residing here then persue them and tag them like they do back home or ultimately just deport them

A criminal no doubt but aren't morals taught in Thai society?

The sex didn't bother the boys only not getting paid for services rendered...

Why does my friend keep calling LOS an immoral culture?

With all the Beautiful Ladies in Thailand some guys have to molest young boys for sex, pretty sick.

If Thailand and England have an agreement he will serve his time in England, I know the US has such an agreement.

Hmm, the boys were not upset about having sex with a 64 yo Brit, but went to the police when they weren't paid for the service... TiT after all...

If the Brit didn't pay, how the boys family can buy a new car?

If he had paid the boys the 500 B it would have been all OK, from the boys point of view......

Ex catholic priest?

Do you have additional information or is this just an attempt at distorted humour?

The uninformed often misuse the word "pedophile". I wonder if they have looked up the definition as it pertains to post-pubescents and pre-pubescents.

Those that clamor for extreme punishments, before a trial has even convened, are often heard to be the loudest in proclaiming their own rights, benefits and privileges.

Who among those who condemn this man are practicing other behaviors that are likewise illegal under Thai law?

I don't condone, nor do I condemn. I just read the article, which states "allegedly..."and go on. That very word seems to be lost to the self-appointed judges, juries and executioners that post on this forum.

What terrifies me is that his photo and real name is now publicly exposed without any process or maybe even an evidence. That would not happen in civilized country right ?

What is missing is the payment. Any Thai will tell you 'you have to pay', in regards to anything.
