My memory is Truevisions 3 years back didn't always show all games that were on live which was why INITIALLY we were impressed with CTH having 6 dedicated channels. Seems Truevisions may following their previous policy...fine if you support ManU, Liverpool and Arsenal who are guaranteed to always be on but not fine if you support one of the lesser clubs.

Not surprising when they're after subscribers, viewing figures and advertisers.

CTH finally switched off their last satellite link yesterday I believe, judging by the code showing and the lack of ability to do a channel refresh.

No boohhoos from anyone I'm sure.

Some wag at their Receiver's place should have posted a closing message "WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WE ARE COMING FOR THE MONEY":)

Channel 690 is just for live games, but I don't know which game was showing.

I have the Super Family package with the 299 baht football package add-on. Channel 690 comes up as locked when I try it so is this just for Platinum packages?

That's Fox Sport 3 which is in the Platinum package, I don't know if it's available elsewhere. You won't get any Premier League football on there though.

Why is that Santi? Are you looking over your shoulder?

Saw something today that CTH to "pay fines amounting to 20,000 baht a day starting August 28 until the cable TV service provider fulfils the board’s order for it to refund its clients."

I noticed in my gym yesterday that there was no CTH. So have they completely switched off transmission?

So you have just confirmed with your statement city are not a big club, well done old chum city forever in our shadow ?

^I think in the eyes of the tv programmers City are not considered as big a club as the 3 teams I mentioned.

Ps. Take 2 aspirins and go straight to bed for the derby fever symptoms you're suffering Nev.

Re demise of CTH BB^. Wiki confirms:

"End of Broadcasting Service

In November 2015, CTH began to revoke its service via over 170 local cable service providers after they turned the focus into satellite-TV after the merger of GMM B. [17] In the same month, they loss Premier League bid for the next 3 seasons to beIN Sports with a lower price than theirs from the last three years.

In late January 2016, CTH cancelled its Z Pay-TV packages provided for GMM Z customer following by the cancellation of its channels on PSI and RS Sunbox packages in February 2016. [18]

On 1 August 2016, CTH ceased its KU-band broadcast via Thaicom satellite after laid off its around 100 employess and announced to cease all of their broadcasting service on 1 September 2016 after its rival TrueVisions acquired sub-licensing rights to broadcast Premier League from beIN Sport until 2019. CTH said it can no longer withstand the impact of the economic slowdown. [19]

CTH ceased all of its broadcasting service on 1 September 2016 along with the closure of its website.

CTH reportedly has a massive losses of almost 20 billion baht."

Economic slowdown was the cause then:cheesy:

Nothing to do with poor budgeting resulting in overbidding or failure to collect substantial chunks of rev from the punters or failure to have a single minute of advertising (due no doubt to negotiating shut out deals with those leviathan Thai corporations who sponsored rather than advertised - just guessing)

20 billion baht down the toilet. Would love to know the names who got caught, that is serious money. Was doomed from day one.Never head hunted anyone with the expertise to run the show and it was inevitable to go belly up.

Major change to the company organization happened in April 2012, when Wichai Thongtang, a businessman and former Thaksin Shinawatra lawyer, acquired 25% of CTH while Thai Rath newspaper family, headed by Vachara Vacharapol, acquired another 25% of the company.

Wonder who financed Mr Tongtang's share?:whistling:

If TS was involved, really surprised that he allowed it to operate in such a ramshackle way.

I can't seem to find the Burnley, Bournemouth or Boro games tonight.  Have Real Madrid on BeIN 2 instead... Bangkok Post lists these on BeIN 5 & 6 but I don't have these on my True box.. Confused!

Someone sent an email to Truevisions complaining why no pundit programmes. Just flicking through the onscreen schedule for Bein 1 and noticed the Keys & Grey show on at 6pm - sorry didn't note which day.

That was there Friday preview show. I think the issue is that Bein in M.E have rights for SPL & Championship, which they may cut to during broadcast, which is why they can't show them, perhaps. I thought I'd have a quick look yesterday but was outraged when Pep Guirdiola's interview was dubbed over in Thai. 365 sport seem to be fairly reliable. Will make a final decison at end of month, as to which I keep.

Truevisions are showing Bein's coverage of the Champions League. Anyone know how we find out which games are on which Truevisions channel?

Truevisions onscreen guide and website guide don't help nor does Bein's thai website.

During the buildup to the Manchester derby, Truevisions showed that Premier games were on Bein 1, 3-6. Not sure since when Bein 6 came online.

Bein 5 and 6 are only in SD. On a large screen TV it's not worth viewing.

It wasn't transmitted as scheduled on Friday 9th September at least not at the time it was supposed to be.

Truevisions' response to my complaints resulted in them passing the buck to Bein Sports to quote "that's all that Bein has supplied us with in the package we paid for"

The Bangkok Post and Nation seem uninterested in Truevisions indifference to their customers yet, they were all over CTH.

IPPlaybox ( my Android Service ) offers Optus Sports from Australia with analysis from the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Richard Dunne showing all of the UK 3pm kick-offs.

If you like complaining and have a Facebook account go to Truevisions Facebook page. There are 6 fixtures with 3pm kick-offs on Saturday 24th September I wonder if they will show all 6 matches.

Truevisions have been up-front (to me anyway) about the fact that they won't be showing all the live games.

Did anybody watch the Champions League games last night? I went to bed a few minutes after kickoff as the City game was postponed. I did flick through the 4 games briefly but can't remember if english or thai commentary, but Santisuk posted earlier on the Arsenal forum "no English commentary BeIn/True?". So did anybody have english commentary on truevisions?

Also did it show the pre game pundit show (keys and grey or similar)?

There was English commentary for the Celtic match although after the 4th goal for Barcelona I muted the sound !

Don't know about the Arsenal match.

Didn't notice any pre game pundits but no post match analysis even though it was scheduled.

Had to watch post match analysis on BT Sport HD.

True have messaged me to say they have 6 Bein channels transmitting on 24th September but it doesn't mean they will show all 6 matches.

The 3 or 4 recasts I dipped into between 7 and 10am this morning had decent English commentaries, which makes it even more curious that the Arsenal game had none. It had a Thai commentary, which, on the basis of a 2 minute listen, seemed to be a poor/tentative staccato one. I think it may have been overvoicing/translating from some other non-English language, but I wasn't at the time interested enough to listen carefully to identify which language which was running softly in the background. That was on the 'Thai' language option; just crowd noise on 'English' and 'dd+' (whatever the latter means).

I can live without commentary - much preferable to sound and no vision (a la radio). Could maybe have found an internet radio channel? - but wasn't fussed. The only draw-back is you get less of a sense as to who is contributing to play other than the ones who tend to be easy to spot. I can detect Coquelin even on long camera shots but I hardly saw Ozil all night. Maybe he did more than it seemed to me!

Anyone know what games are on Bein on Truevisions tonight?

It's a bit of a pain on Truevisions that they don't include on their Schedule Guides the games on live or the games on rerun - it's complete hit and miss!

Posted

When True couldn't provide any answers to what exactly would be available and/or when I decided to hold off signing up for any of their packages and instead use the internet for complete games/highlights or "catch up" - dependent upon K.O. times, until things became clear.

Going on the problems reported by others on this thread, since the PL season started, it would appear that I was right in doing so.

I can't help but wonder just how much their incompetence has cost them?
