So, if I had to choose between a party at Nancy's place or one at the Trans residence, I'd go for the old crooner anytime, better than tea and cucumber sarnies!

Thank you, I can belt one out from time-to-time. Hubby's hooking up the karaoke system as we speak.

Edit: Oh wait, I assume you meant me, because I have no idea what a cucumber sarnie is.

OK, here's a little something to help Canuckamuck rise in the poll. Little known fact: I've lived most of my live north of most of the population of Canada. Yes, indeed. Take a look a true map and you'll see that northern lower Michigan is actually north of the population centers of Canada.

For a number of years, Hubby and I received Canadian TV better on the rabbit ears than we did U.S. TV, so we knew more about Canadian politics and Canadian sports, yeah "Hockey Night in Canada" Or, as Hubby said when the installation crew finally arrived on our farm "Thank God for DirecTV"

I went into Windsor, Ontario every so often to buy supplies for the nursery operation and did banking in Canada. Sometimes I took Mr. Bitey when he was a kitten and he had a chance to meet Stephen Harper.

I don't know if the mods will let this post stay, but things got so ugly for Stephen Harper in Canada -- for good reason -- that Mr. Bitey was invited back to Canada for another modeling job:

More about VF:

I have plenty of friends who seem incapable of uttering an original thought or posting an original photo. I never click the links or give any of that stuff more than a cursory glance but I never try to tell them what to do. They are free to post it and I am free to ignore it.

I treat ThaiVisa the same way but notice many posters are quick to insist that others do as they are told. I don’t understand the authoritarian attitude and insistence on dominating others to the point of beating them into submission and conformity. I definitely admire some posts more than others but try not let the source affect my judgement, if there is something I can relate to and some thought has gone into it.
One of the least attractive posting models in my opinion is where personal and offensive things are said about someone but the poster thinks they are absolved of their bad behavior by saying in small print, “nothing personal”. Of course it is personal, that is why they say it in the first place.
Is it really necessary for posters to play the man instead of the ball, in sports parlance?

err.... so you are trying to tell us what to do...or you are not trying to tell us what to do. You seem to be subtlety telling other posters how to post.

I'm well confused.

Anyway, as always, I'll do my own thing, with the minimum of any malice or ill will.

Bring Chimpy on, he'll sort it all out for a packet of Lays Original.

So, whose pet is Chimpy? (And I thought I was paying attention. Sorry)

Chimpy is a buddy of mine Nancy. As a St Kllda football supporter, he usually only posts on the AFL thread. he sometimes gets up to Chiang Mai to visit his old mate

I'm leaving for the holidays and wont be back to TVF to post before new year, albeit I will try my best to find a PC and cast my vote before then.

So, happy Xmas to ALL and the very best for the New Year, be good to one another and play nice!

cheers

Merry Christmas, Chiang Mai. Have a good holiday. Vote early and vote often for the home town girl.

I can let one rip, from time to time, as well, but you might prefer the cucumber sarnies and pims, or some other excuse to step outside

SC

Edit: Not as in "Would you like to step outside",but as in "I'm just going to step outside for a moment, I may be some time"

We are down to the last day of this round and I would like to wish everyone on the list the best of luck. To you voters, join in the spirit of the season and vote at the top of this page. I won't insult you by telling you who to vote for as I'm sure you can figure that out all by yourself. Whatever you do on this Christmas Eve have a great time and enjoy the holidays. Hopefully I will see you again in the finals but if not have a Happy New Year as well.

Because this time of year the post count is down on ThaiVisa, so they dream up this contest to keep the advertisers happy.

Edit: Oops, was that too cynical? In a former life, I used to be in marketing.

No one reads the bloody adds anyway some are in Thai but the Mods do nothing about that

Maybe the front five should tell us what they want for Christmas?

I'll put in a good word. As you know, Santa gets his mail from Canada Post.

Who won this competition last year? I can't remember her name?

I remember last year you sent JT off to your man-up school to toughen him right up. It must have worked as he romped home to victory.

Any tips for this years candidates? Anyone u want to take to man-up school?

Looks like Nancy or Trans will be fighting it out this year. They seem pretty tough already.

Hello Bookster, Seasons Greetings to you.

Nancy would do well to take a lesson or two from my 'man up' school, however Trans the old Sheila has no chance of achieving the rank, he's just an old Sheila.

As far as men go, I'd say Villagefarang will make a late dash for the line, he's a mans man, I've seen the guy ride his Bicycle up the side of a CM mountain in one wheel whilst lifting weights in one hand and chewing nails, this guy is the real deal.

Folks will see,the light and switch to VF at the last minute!

From memory, JT didn't complete the man up course, actually he never even fronted.
