Before all the usual inane comments start, we don't know what led to this, but nevertheless it's sad that people see no they way out of what's troubling them.

Bloody hell surely life is not that bad sad.png

RIP to the gentleman and his devastated family

Unfortunately it seems it was!

I guess the pain and despair was beyond his endurance. If nobody was looking after him, then I can see how it happened. Poor bloke.

Medicines were found at the scene. Poor man must have been going through hell thinking that there was no other option.

R.I.P. sad way to end a life.

If he had been told he had an incurable illness, it must have been playing on his mind.

Sometimes you think what is the point of living. I know after i was told i would never walk again, yes i did think of ending my life.

I was and still am very fortuneate i have a good wife behind me.

I told her please help me end my life and her reply was !! you not love me !! if you love me do not speak like that.

We fight this together.

If I got told I was terminal and it was going to get painful, I'd probably schedule a painless exit as well.

But I think I'd prefer a massive overdose to swinging from the ceiling fan.

Unfortunately suicide is becoming common everywhere. One would think that today with all our progressive technology, planning to go Mars and all the wonderful things yet to come, we could help these people. All that society seems to produce is more stress and strain. RIP

Thai hospitals aren't into pain management (so i've been told) and i don't think it would be so easy to get medication which would ensure a painless death, if it was easy why is it all the rage to go to Switzerland to end your life. As we get older thoughts like this occur to one, at least to me. Poor guy, left alone with his pain and fears, well he is past it all now.

Not many people on TV seem to understand depression.

It is not unlike cancer, it is insidious, and once it takes hold of a person they often have little control over it.

Before you criticize the deceased be very glad you haven't experienced it.

He might have had some painful illness and we all know how hard it is to get heavy duty painkillers here almost impossible. If its inoperable well might as well do it on your terms. I would and will.

and our "civilised" western christian society still demands a long, slow, painful and undignified death with all the trimmings - feeding tubes, adult diapers, chronic pain, hospital food, daytime television, etc.

Surely he should of spent his last days with family or friends. Drinking alone, and then hanging yourself (while on holiday), is beyond depressing.

Incurable disease or not....this man made quite a statement of how sad, and utterly alone..he was.

I don't need to hear about his "rights", that is not an issue. It is the timing and method.

I don't know what you catagorise as "Heavy Duty" pain killers, or if you live in Mai Hon Son, or outer Boony Soiland, but any of the hospitals in Bangkok, Pattaya, etc have and will use appropriately, the strongest painkillers available.

But as we all know, you don't need a doctor to get prescription medicines, many pharmacies will sell you anything you want.
