Costa gone for three games. Cue fire and brimstone from Mou.

Amusing to see the three game suspension reversed.....and he is now , as carms said, a marked man for the rest of the season.

He's going to get nothing at all from now until Christmas....that's for sure....until the referees have their mince pies and brandy sauce this is not going to go away.

Gotta love the chavs....one more in the foot for short term gain....as always!

I believe that Costa's display last Saturday was a direct result of his woeful performance against Everton the previous weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho instructed him to push the boundaries against Gabriel and Koscielny, something he didn't do with Jagielka and Stones.

All this talk about this sort of behaviour affecting the watching youngsters in the crowd, makes me laugh. In my heyday, I was privy to various 'spats' involving Osgood and Hunter/Bremner and Ron Harris and his favourite 'prey',George Best. Some of the tackles, elbows and swipes between that bunch made Costa's actions look like a Darby and Joan garden party in comparison. And it didn't turn me into a raving lunatic plus it didn't influence the way I played the game, hard but fair. Kids that watch football and go off the rails, will do so irrespective of what they see on a football field.

i tend to agree with you but then again Costa takes things to a new level.

He was well known in La Liga for his favorite party trick which involved gobbing phlegm into his hand and wiping it into the face of one of his markers when the ref wasn't looking. I don't mind the physical stuff one bit, its good for the game but Costa is a breed apart.

the incident which u wrongly described (as usual) ,making the governor the scrape goat again!!!!! goes back to spain 2012 copa del rey semifinal against r/madrid

during the match, ramos and pepe of r/madrid and costa of ath/madrid were spitting etc etc against each other, a free for all ,no holds barredbiggrin.png

at the end of the match, ramos and pepe, gave costa a handshake and a hug,to leave the matters on the pitch clap2.gif

and to stop spitting etc etc on each otherlaugh.png

sure costa is a handful, but your spuds would dearly luv the governor leading your line with the hurricane feeding off his scraps

harry would would be knocking them in , from everywhere, make no mistake about that,

all the governor knockers, are just a bunch of jealous sore losers, FULL STOP

Yes Soap, anyone defending a player that goes out to deliberately con a referee into getting another player sent off is not a fan of the game , just an imbecile. I'd add that i've spoken to numerous Chelsea fans since the game who are embarrassed by Costa's behaviour and angered by the reaction to it from their manager.

Anyway, the bans on its way and bar the predictable petulant response to the press from Mourinho its over and done with.

I do wonder though whether Mourinho realizes that his reaction to Costa's performance is just another example of why he didn't nor probably ever will get offer the prestigious job at Old Trafford. Its because Jose, you are a very fine manager manager but a classless <deleted> and more of an oily rag that the polish required for such a job. A fact that Florentino Perez and every supporter of Real Madrid would probably concur with.

Carmine, have you forgotten who Man Utd's manager was for 26 years? SAF routinely criticised officials and defended bad behaviour from his players (Roy Keane, Cantona) He has that in common with Mourinho, along with winning trophies and lots of them.

No i haven't. But i never saw him eye gouge another manager. i never saw him berate and humiliate his medical staff for answering to calls from the referee and doing their job and he didn't defend the actions of Cantona at all. He stood by the player though which is totally different and a difference you should remember. He said the player had to accept his punishment due to his behavior but regardless he's still a United player

SAF was never perfect his fiery competive nature did at times seem extreme but he was also an ex player, of some note, that knew the rules, you would never have seen him try to get a player sent off.

Thats is the lowest of low acts.Someone will make a clip of how many times Costa takes this route, a bully boy who cant take it himself.

To compare Moanrinho with SAF is a joke. SAF built a dynasty at the one club for 26 years unlike Moanrinho who moves from club to club after he has worn out his welcome.

As I have posted many times Sir Bobby Charlton publically said that Mourinho did not meet the requirements of a United manger and he wasn't talking about tactical ability.

The verbal abuse that Wenger has received from Moanrinho is also totally classless a "voyeur"..... "a specialist in failure"

Frankly if Costa and Mourinho moved away next year I think many of us that respect the game and its traditions would be more than happy.

If Ferguson had waved an imaginary card or threw himself to the ground to attract the referee's attention, back when he was playing, he would have drawn quizzical looks from all and sundry, then whipped off smartish to hospital to be examined for some mysterious tropical disease.

Costa Eh! Who knew he was someone who played on the edge and some times went over it.........Everyone!!!. So is his antics gonna Cost-us.....i doubt it, is he gonna be singled out......maybe. Imho i think it will create more space for others if defenders want to double up on him and take him on....and if they don,t want to go near him and not get involved in his antics, then happy days for him. Good news though for both Falcao and Remy........it,s win win winsmile.png imho

1-4 Could have been 8. Great performances from Kennedy Loftus Cheek and Ramires...... Remy &Falcao were okay......not so good Mikel Terry and.... Ivanovich was yet again pedestrian at best and turned inside out on more than 3 occasions (embarrassing). Baba did okay at left back but unfortunately i cannot see him replacing Dave just yet which means Ivan stays at Rb for the time being ughhhhhhhhhh

I didn't see the game Keith but it's good to note that Kenedy and Loftus-Cheek were influential. Regarding our weekend game against Newcastle, who would you have as our main striker? Ivanovic should be replaced by Azpilicueta with Rahman slotting in at left back.

I love the way you translate his actions as "playing on the edge" Get real, he's just an <deleted> and a cheat and has nothing to do with what could in any way be described as playing on the edge.

Whatever happens it'll be a Suarez all over again. Eventually basically driven out by the general disgust of football lovers nationwide and totally discounting the "I see no ships" taunts of loyal one-club fans.

The instrument of exportation is the press and the gloss-over-reality is love of money.

Reflection: but maybe not; British psyche seems to have a visceral response to biting, which I never quite understood when set against the leg-breaker defenders (I don't accuse Costa of being a leg-breaker btw)

I resent that comment.

The late Davie Cooper played on the edge....he was brilliant at it...mesmerising at times!

I cant separate either of Falcao or Remy............but Falcao,s header against Palace....would give him the nod in my book. I am afraid that Mo does not see Baba as the finished article yet imho,so he will stick with Ivanovich facepalm.giffacepalm.gif.

"Playing on the edge".............on edge of every defender in his ear every game without fail...... on the edge of getting booked or sent off nearly every game without fail. That is My interpretation and My opinion.

Nasty infections can result from biting, not to mention that the large majority of creatures that do it are four legged.

In spite of our record against Newcastle at home, I reckon we'll win because, surprisingly enough, Newcastle were in pretty good form prior to our last two visits there.

Come off it Santi, he's chancing his arm in the same vein as plenty of other centre forwards have done in the Premier League and the old First Division. Duncan Ferguson comes immediately to mind as an 'in your face' exponent of pushing the limits.

On what Ive seen and looking at the stats Ide defo have Remy over falcao.

And going on the ending games of last season and the start of this, costa really hasnt been effective AT ALL, cant have scored v much in the last ten games. i'de be looking very closely at starting with Remy.

Newcastle,s players seem to raise there game against us for some funny reason, but like you i think they are in poor form and we have got far too much ammo for them to handle. I hope!

I'd definitely prefer Remy against Newcastle. Falcou was very poor against Walsall mid week. He had plenty of chances but struggles to even hit the target. No confidence what so ever

It all depends on, if Remy is mentally prepared to play against his old club. There's a danger that he might go into his shell, when confronting former teammates and he's got the Geordie crowd to contend with as well. In spite of all that, I'd still start with him as I like the way he links up with Hazard and Pedro around the penalty box. Falcao doesn't quite have that understanding yet.

I enjoy Costa's antics with regards to upsetting opposition players with verbals and bullying. I like that old school part of the game, individual battles were something I enjoyed very much as a player.

I'm amazed at how upset opposition players get, or more to the point how many seem to lack the mental strength to counter Costa.

One thing I really don't like is the phlegm throwing stuff I find that pretty disgusting, scumbag behaviour.

How does anyone allow themselves to be bullied by a guy that wears wooly mittens?
