Not disputing it happens, but in some respects it turns my stomach

I've seen Thai guys with ladyboys that turn my stomach.  I've seen Thai guys carrying a little yapping dog and packages running after Thai women shopping.  I've seen Thai men who let their wife decorate the whole house in pink hello kitty colors ant that turns my stomach.  I've seen beautiful Thai women chasing fat tomboys and that turns my stomach.  All those things turn my stomach because I don't understand them.  Wendy Murdoch got rich and that I understand although I wouldn't do Murdoch myself I do understand it and don't get nauseous.

I got married for my money twice and then I lost it and moved to Thailand.  I felt a little cheated when I realized the women were only after money and not my handsome face or well endowed body but I got over it thanks to a therapist on Soi ........ 

 

One of my ex wives married money again and I watch them on her facebook page.  Same stuff we used to do lunch at the yacht club and driving around town in the expensive antique cars with my kids.  The only difference is it's a different face in the pictures - not mine.  The kids look happy.  I guess you can buy love.

Next year I'll be 50, and I still have a lot to learn, daily I see my errors.

My girl and I are approaching the 9 year mark.  I don't want to say "my girl is different" because in simple terms she's a decent version of a village girl that never got pushed to Pattaya or similar by her family (and family is who you should assess imho).  She's very independent, and doesn't really need anybody.  She's not a "soul mate" but I do better with her in this country than without, and I bring skills that help her thrive in her own country too, so with a lot of slack (eg. she likes plastic Buddhism, respects local tradition, and I don't interfere), and she doesn't get on my case about hanging out with friends when they're in town even if she doesn't like them.  That slackness or wiggle room allows both of us to do better together than being alone.  So rather than some Hollywood story of the misalignment of our stars, it's a fairly practical, close (but not too close) relationship that works for both her and me, both being fairly independent, both non controlling, and not always agreeing but both accommodating.

So it's not Shakespeare's R&J, but it seems to work so far, and I can't imagine straying, can't imagine quitting.  I've carried her, she's carried me (Bono "We've got to carry each other).  

Anyhow to get to the farang/local thing, I don't really think it's that much of an issue.  If I can help her keep face while with me (without the concrete makeup lol), and privately we're in happy company, I don't think farang is really an issue, anymore than colour/race/creed would affect any relationship if you have a meeting of minds, and at least a little in heart.

In fact they demand much much less, are much prettier and younger then western alternatives.

And demand is not higher then supply certainly not from the places I have been in Thailand.

Me and you probably have different ideas about what qualifies as the grade A merchandise in Thailand 

 

Of course all Asian women who take care of themselves will be an huge improvement over those greedy, obese, overfed creaturess from farang land but supply and demand still exists in Thailand
