TM.30: Immigration chief tells foreigners: Report where you are and who is staying with you

What happen if i live in my own appartment most of the time and stay one or two days at my gf house?... and if we move to her parents house in the country side for a weekend? Shall it be a constant surveillance?
It depends on which Immigration office you use. Technically a new report should be filed every time you stay overnight in another place, within 24 hours of returning home. In practice, very few offices enforce this.

I had a foursome last night; three girls from Soi Cowboy staying with me. (Two of them said they were from Laos.) Was too drunk to remember their names. I think, one called herself 'Apple' (or 'Banana'??)... Anyway it was a fruit! I'm sure about that. So, what do I write now onto my TM.30 report??

Nicknames like Nit, Noy, Nap, Neen or Nong drive me crazy.

The only office that will ask you for a TM30, for the property you live in, will be the office where you do your 90 day and extension. If you have no business at immigration at the parents house, nobody will ever ask for a TM30 for your stay at the parents.

Before you visit your local immigration office, make sure you have a current TM30 for the address you live in.

I've also decided to leave.

I've had enough of a predominantly racist nation that act imperialistic with little more than prostition, extortion, fraud, cheap rubbish goods, very poor cleanliness, customer service, brash loud rudness, disrespect, extortion, corruption, pollution, filth and dirt, street dogs, lawlessness, increase in violence, dishonesty, abuse and soooo on...

The unprovoked attacked on my persons last week by a jumped up egotistic, racist Thai guaard was the last straw.

I NO LONGER FEEL RESPECTED, LIKED OR WELCOME AND FEEL A VERY STRONG DISLIKE TOWARD ME FROM MOST THAI FOR BEING A FOREIGNER. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE!

Watch channel 35 news reports in the morming...

I don't watch channel 35.  What happened?

Do tourists have to fill out a TM 30?

No, but if they later apply for an extension, immigration usually wants to see a hotel entry or a paper reciept. At Jomtien, 99% of the people doing TM30s and paying fines are tourists.

I dont think so. Its not technical. Its either political or personal.

After reading that Cambodia has today announced they are implementing their own "TM30" foreigner reporting/tracking as well I think you maybe right.

You have a form to fill out online in a few provinces that enforce this rule.  Why would you be running?

Yes not have sense for foreigner but for Thai immigration officer is so happy work when foreigner arrived on to office immigration and so sad when foreigners go ways, we are the jobs for this Thais peoples, think about this prospective, we are theirs precious cows and go happy, if you think same a foreigner you never go happy on smile country.

Immigration are happy with less foreigners. What an awful job, 7 hours a day with little break listening to retired Scandinavian sailors complain about the strong baht making their pension no good to look after their tee rak.

Foreigners only affect the jobs of  those working in the tourism industry. To others, we are more work.

It's understandable why they want less.

How on earth would anyone know if he stayed at his girlfriends or her parents house?

Agreed. Also an IQ test ( weed out the dummies ) plus should be able to do 100 meters in less than 16 seconds ( weed out the beer guts and old codgers ) and down a small bottle of Lao Khao within 5 minutes to prove that thorough integration has taken place. Maybe even a wai test. Applicant is shown full size pictures of different kinds of Thai people and the appropriate wai must be given. ( or grahb , whatever seems best )

The list is endless.

and not forgetting how to pass the brown envelope, undetected.

Inching to the North Korea model. I think it would be easier if every foreigner was assigned an official 'minder' who escorted you everywhere in the country. Could charge everyone 500 baht a day for this 'service'....could then say that they have done away with all reporting....

Please don't give them ideas !

It's just amazing that a full time retired person that the government has loads of data on, needs to keep the government informed of their whereabouts constantly. But, a tourist whom the government really knows nothing about, is free to go wherever and whenever they want.

Yes, I know hotels and guest houses are suppose to report for you. But, that is not always true. Plus, there is no penalty to the tourist if they don't.

 Sounds a little backward.

Then you need to formulate a back up plan for your escape. I suggest you start by looking for a country with a low cost of living, nice beaches, cheap rent, good food, excellent medical and dental care, and far less bureaucratic hoops for expatriates to jump through. In fact, you might want to start by researching Mexico and Peru.

The BIG problem with Thailand and it's various Government Departments, are there are NO set rules followed. Officers and offices use their own discretion and interpretation of the rules and that is where the problem lies !!!!!! In a normal organised country a memo is forwarded to all sections to abide by not to make personal decisions that are not in accordance with the instructions !!!!!! and even placed on a notice board for the public !

Did I read that right? If you have a yellow house book, or you are listed in the blue house book (Permanent Residents), you do not need to file a TM30 if you are returning to that address?

I think its correct. I have a yellow book and asked when doing 90 reporting. she said I didnt have to do it when returning from abroad

Your friend, or his friend, or any other friend can file a TM30 as the tenant or occupier of the Condo.
