I have reported that some of the soups here especially the Pho, smell like urine.

So, not a surprise.

What's worse than urine, is the oil these vendors tend to use. They use low grade carcinogenic vegetable oils, but the kicker here is that they collect the oil in plastic buckets, to use again the following days and weeks. I've seen some of the oil literally black. 

Guess he wouldn't wash his hands before serving!

something like this happened in india. the vendor was using his urine in the preparation of "pani puri" but he was given a severe thrashing by his clients when discovered to be doing so.

My wifes sister (laos) held a relatives baby up in the air as soon as it started to pee, and let it pee straight down her throat believe the same thing ... I stared in disbelief for a second or two before running off and throwing up ... much to the disgust of the other relatives who wondered what was wrong with the falang !!!!

I have heard of extreme cases, where people drink their own urine to survive, after being stranded on a remote island. But, to do this voluntarily? Or without notice? What can one say? In the US that would be considered quite a serious health violation. Here? It will be considered amusing, at best.

It is safe for you to drink your own urine but to drink someone elses can cause allergic reaction. His urine is probably causing other people to have more aches and pains
