Travelling to Kota Baru from Samui

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of the most cost effective way to get to Kota Baru from the island. I need to get a new visa soon....thanks.

Moving  this topic to the Samui Forum for local input.

I've done it once, using a visa-run agent – I used Easyway in Maenam – worked perfect, and was reasonable priced. However, I cannot say if others might be better.

I appreciate the info. Has anyone gone without and agent? I'm not sure if I'll save enough to be worth it but I'm new to the island, used to reside in Hua Hin. Any help is very much appreciated.

Potentially cheap to go to Surat, fly Air Asia to KL, then second flight to Kota Baru.  KL flight will be or already back on schedule. Herbert has discontinued his charter flights but is a whiz on visa front.

Just a ticket from surat to KL is 4k....but you got my hopes up. A ticket direct from the island is 10k roughly.

Anyway, I think it will likely all cost around the same. thanks for the help.

Air Asia ticket prices are pretty variable. Might be a lot cheaper if you were able to book further ahead for a future trip.
