Pattaya Court escape: Ten aided escapees, wife of dead American is 3 months pregnant

Further details have emerged after the three suspects that escaped from a Pattaya court on Monday were captured. 

 

Daily News quoted Pol Lt-Gen Satawat Hiranburana, assistant to the national police chief,  as saying that ten people helped in the escape. 

 

He said it was a word of mouth escape organised by those who got away and that no one was officially hired. 

 

American Bart Allen Helmus used a 9 mm gun to shoot his wife in the head but she was not badly injured. He then shot 4 or 5 times at police before shooting himself in the head.

He was reportedly taken to Somdet Phrayupharat Hospital where he was brain dead and later pronounced dead.

 

Lt-Gen Satawat said that the American's wife Sirinpha Wisetrit is three months pregnant. This fact may have led to her husband's stressful behavior, he said. 

 

Noi or Ton Nilthes, 40 is also in custody. 

 

Ruk Siam News reported that one of the people who aided in their escape was a 20 year old Thai man called Worakorn or "Mot". 

 

They said that he smuggled the gun and knife into the cells and gave them to Noi.

He was taken by investigators to some woods in the Khao Mai Kaew area of Bang Lamung (Pattaya) where he tossed clothes and chains cut from the escapees. 

 

All ten people involved in aiding the escape would be prosecuted, reported Daily News.

He must be useless with a gun if he shot his wife in the head and she's ok, and he shot himself dead, but apparently he's not dead anymore. This whole story is full of holes!

How do we know? They mention 10, but then only specifically describe one of them, apparently a kid/civilian. No mention of who the other 9 might be, and whether any of them wear uniforms.

That was the first attempt to get someone to smuggle a weapon to them.

Yesterday she was in critical condition. And if someone is shot in the head then he is normally badly injured. I never saw such confusing news reporting. Perhaps tomorrow the guy will be alive again. Whatever - good for selling advertisement. This is what it is all about in the end. Who cares about the facts.
