those transfer fees and even hidden much worse transfer fees on some machines and then the 220b is a killer! Oh not to mention your home bank fees....!!!!

I geel the guys pain!

Agreed.

Then again I'm living back in the UK now. All of the places that exchange money quote 35/45 (+ commission) as their rates buy/sell, rather different to the 38/39 that one would see in Thailand.

I'll keep my 8'ish '000 Baht in my bag until I next visit the LOS!

Well i can understand him well, Thai atm's don't work many times and also not when trying to get cash on your creditcard.

And that 220 baht surcharge is also pure theft...

But the thai language NOT say farang. Sure.

The TVF translation guy often change the language. Why?

For annoy Jingthing?

My wife read the caption and confirms it does not say farang.

They did not explain exactly how the police managed to get an arrest warrant in the name of the suspect.

Well they wouldn't would they, but it's not too difficult to work out. All ATM transactions are logged whether they issue money or not.

So a quick consultation with the bank's database and it's gotcha!

No. She said 'foreigner' or European'. It can be used in both contexts apparently.

Probably from the ATM records, it records the name relating to every card put in it.

Dtang chat hua rawn - Tup dtuu gawt ngern sot pang.

Hot headed foreigner - destroys cash machine.

Nothing about European or farang in the caption.

Some of the comments are as pathetic as the conduct of the suspect. I can only guess that alcohol, drugs or mental illness are contributing factors in both camps.

I do feel for the guy and the grief he is getting on here. On holiday forgetting your in a 3rd world country with 3rd world banking. Expecting same service he gets back in the UK was his first mistake. Frustration and maybe desperation resulted in him losing his temper "let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone". How much physical damage can you do to an atm by kicking or hitting it? Not much I would think. Its not as if he took a brick or hammer to it. Learn from your mistake and remember when you book your next holiday.....

Not rocket science, ATM card account has suspect’s name, quick check of TM30 database which hotel will have recorded him on, off the BiB go and nab him.
