Thai netizens are moved by a picture of a civet that escaped a wildfire in Chiang Mai province and was seen begging for water from humans on the road.

According to the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, Doi Suthep-Pui National Park is a habitat for 489 species.

The civet is one of those species that has a deep connection with the forest since its main food source is fruits.

Civets perform the role of distributing seeds of important plants all over the forest. Therefore, the wildfire caused by human activity will deeply affect the ecosystem of the forest, experts said.

The situation of wildlife in Chiang Mai seems to be worse than ever. In March, the level of PM2.5 dust particles around the area hit 1,000 micrograms per cubic metre while wildfires are destroying the natural habitat of various animals.

Burning the forest is a CRIMINAL act .

When will these criminals be finally held responsible for their acts ...?

Just a fine is not enough !

I think the Thais do things a certain way (and will not change) because that is the way they have always done it. I bought my staff a simple machine that, with one easy crank of a lever, produced about 20 chipped potatoes all ready for frying. Would they use it ? A resounding NO ! It was "their way or no way" ????

i look out my window here in chiangdao and i cant see the mtns .. maybe its because my eyes are burning and watering ..

The pm has it under control along with Covid so no need to be concerned.
