Video: Blame it on the drizzle and being 25! "Benjaphaet" driver comes a cropper in front of Korat mall

Dash cam footage from a driver who posted on Facebook showed the moment when a black Isuzu pick-up raced past at high speed.

The dash cam driver shrieks as the pick-up whizzes past dangerously.

Then the pick-up driver loses it when trying to get round the car in front before slamming into a roadside tree and overturning.

The accident happened on the Friendship Highway inbound outside a famous mall on Sunday evening, said Sanook.

Inside the car was 25 year old Weerawat who said he was in his way home after work. He blamed the accident on the light rain or drizzle.

He said he was helped out of his car and was fortunate not to be badly injured. The media said he hurt his left arm in particular among other minor injuries.

Sanook mentioned that the driver was "benjaphaet". This refers to a Thai belief that something decisive or dramatic happens when people are 25 years old, notes Thaivisa's cultural attache.

So nothing to do with the possibility that he might not have had any driving tuition whatsoever, as they are compelled to do in normal countries ?

You can see black smoke pouring out of the exhaust as he planted his foot to go even faster and then lose control I'm just glad this idiot didn't involve any other cars in his wreck .

Of the vehicle. A pickup truck is not a sports car.

So true. Unladen pickups have very limited rear traction particularly on wet, greasy roads.

Yes. Not the new normal we are being told about, but the normal normal we are used to seeing daily.

'He blamed the accident on the light rain or drizzle'. Oh really! So it was nothing to do with his idiotic, immature driving in a totally unsuitable vehicle.

But the pick up driver has watched Lewis Hamilton many times and it never happens to him! Why?

Looks like he was trying to undertake on a wet road to me and badly exceeded the limit of his ability as usual ..

And 1  brain  cell does  not  make a F1 driver.

I see idiots like him every day in BKK, driving a pickup with souped up engine blowing black fumes, slalomming through traffic with much noise....they think they're above the law which they are because the police just let's them do so.

Sometimes you do get what you asked for... I wonder if he'll do the same again if & when he can afford another pick-up?

I hope the damage to anyone’s property wasn’t too severe.

you gotta blame it on something. whatever you do don't put the blame on you.

Those Re Chipped Trucks are driven by the same types.Hope the posters who could see nothing much from the Vid use Taxi.

drizzle 555

 - lucky it wasn't really raining!

- watching the video, you could take a breath between raindrops on the windscreen...

A pity the guy is not dead! A sister from my GF was killed by such a retarded, and also in that case the driver has minor injuries.

The age says it all, no experience, rear wheel drive, rainy weather, the perfect circumstances to get this.

time for a crackdown on these pesky wet roads!

They have to span a large sail over the road.

One less problem, not to mention the other one million problems at the road.

No worries; the Dumb Cops will want to do a 'reanactment ' !

Until real rules and laws are put in place and carried out, this wont stop. Time to say goodbye to the 500thb fine and wai, and time to send these idiots to prison.
