Traffic on the Saraburi-Korat Mittraphap Road came to a standstill on Monday (May 11) when people stopped their cars to pick up sausages that were scattered on the road after a truck flipped over.

A clip of the incident, which went viral, was posted on May 12 by a person who was caught in the congestion.

Netizens have slammed this behaviour, with many saying this was unlawful and legal action should be taken.

The driver, who was in hospital being treated for back injuries, contacted the person who posted the clip to explain his situation. He said the truck’s cargo of 10 tonnes of sausages was stolen and that he personally will have to cover the cost, which far exceeds the amount covered by insurance.

The wurst that could happen is a mild case of food poisoning for the scavengers.

Hope the all get diarrhea, sounds like the driver will

have to work the rest of his life just to pay for the

sausages,IF he does not get the sack.

Reminds me of an accident many years ago down

in Phuket, when a wagon and trailer tipped over

coming up a hill, people all over it, but it was loaded

with explosives, and did explode, these Bangers are

less dangerous.

que??  ahh! - he must have been in the trailer when the truck was pinched?

 - and became a sausage roll himself in the tip over...

Lucky he didn't split his guts wide open in the crash, as someone would have pinched them off him too...

Seen a similar video on youtube, a gasoline tanker truck had flipped over and people were all over it like ants trying get hold of the leaking gasoline. You can imagine what happened a few minutes later.. kaboom..

I remember when that plane crashed in Thailand many years ago. They even looted the dead bodies. So what chance has a sausage got?

What's the problem? These are simply good, honest, and conscientious Thai citizens who saw that an accident had blocked the road and decided to stop, help clear all the rubbish out of the way, and reopen the road. They should be commended for their selfless efforts and sense of civic responsibility.

Free food !  Couldn't have come at a better time, when people are going hungry.

It’s good there were no foreigners involved in this otherwise the foreigners have to pay double TIT

Why would he have to pay? Insurance should cover that , not his fault that he had to go to hospital. Don't know of it was his fault the truck tipped over . Still an Insurance job. But hey this is Thailand Who knows what pans out.  :wai:

Pity Somchai didn't collide with a bread van, we could have had hot dogs as part of Immigrations love n share scheme.

By far these “comedians” are the most offensive posters I have ever seen on this channel. Be ashamed for this type of vulture humour you bunch of bottom feeders. Moderators ban these individuals.

First JESUS moment for Newbies. One of those 7/1 Sausages. Essence of Pork n Road Killed Meat, and Slaughterhose waste. Second shock, their Hotel serves em too.

Looks like someone added the leg to their sausage score

This why one shouldn't err on the safe side with COVID restrictions: army is now needed to escort sausage trucks.  Decorations will be handed out for preserving the national sausage.
