Why are you still wearing masks everywhere?  Stadtler does not think you could catch this virus if you wanted to catch it.  It's gone, yet everyone is still wearing masks. Stadtler won't wear a mask in the hallways or elevator anymore, because Stadtler thinks the risk is 0.

Stadtler does not think it will stay at 0 risk once they let people in from other countries that have not snuffed the virus out of existence, and then Stadtler will don a mask for his own protection.

What about you?

Isn't the wearing of a mask to prevent you, Stadtler, from giving Covid to others as opposed to stopping you, Stadtler, from catching it? Has Stadtler had a test to prove he is Covid free?

Stadtler has been tested for many things:

Medical School

State Bar

Mensa

and too many others to mention.

If Stadtler wears a mask, it is to protect him not you.  Where did you get such a silly idea?

That's the point, isn't it?  For most intents and purposes, the virus is gone.  It's finished.  Vanquished! Destroyed!

Stadtler is not a loon in that he believes that once the floodgates are opened, especially to the Chinese, the lock downs will return and the necessity to wear a mask will come back.

However, Stadtler is enjoying a bit of normalcy.

How about you?

This sort of reckless abandon could lead to a 200 baht fine and a few midnight visits from the BiB.

The S man not wearing a mask !   I say up to you!

Thailand is practically covid free

My wife said to me many Thai people look at me when I cough (acid reflux)  and clear my throat , I wear it as a courtesy  to others !

  • Popular Post

Under the emergency decree you must wear a mask when outside your property. The fine is still 20,000 baht . Why would you take any risk by not wearing one .

Don't spread fake news.

There is no Thai law or decree that makes wearing a mask when outside mandatory all over the Kingdom. There are only some regional places that have introduced this and some public transport providers.

“The spokesman of the Royal Thai Police also denied that police charged a fine of 200 baht if (people) do not wear a mask, as per the news on social media, by confirming as fake news”

Thailand’s Anti-Fake News Centre, a government-run platform within the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, also published this report on March 26, 2020, labeling the claims in the misleading post as “fake news”.

During a phone conversation with AFP on March 31, 2020, Thai lawyer and human rights activist Ronnarong Kaewphet said: “No, there is no provision in the Thai legislation which mentions anything like this.”

Royal Police spokesperson Krissana Pattanacharoen told AFP during a telephone conversation on March 27, 2020 the claim is “fake news”.

“It is indeed fake, and we have arrested a number of people who started spreading this kind of news,” he said.

So Stadtler can go maskless with confidence. People who claim however that there is a blanket Thailand-wide mandatory requirement to wear masks can be arrested by Thai police and have been. So be careful about claims you make about masks.

There are 2 "tambun" going on in the village right now, with dozens of people, none a single one of them wearing a mask...neither do I.

How can we pass on to each other something that is not there?

As the OP says, let's enjoy it because it will be back as soon as they will reopen the borders...unless they reopen only with Laos, and damn the rest of the world!

Stadtler should be aware that there are vigilantes afoot itching to fire off there slingshots at those not wearing masks.

If you don't need to get in somewhere why use it. However (some) transportation and (most) shops still need it especially malls. However if you don't go there i dont see the point. I put it on when needed.

Don't forget that the virus appears to be able to lay low for a very long time and then re-emerge suddenly, as evidenced by the latest case from Taiwan after two months with no local transmission. I'll keep on wearing the face masks, I think, if only so that Thai people don't glare at me.

There are more viruses than stars in the universe FYI.  We normally don't have to worry about them as our body fends off the virus.  The same thing with covid, if your immune system is healthy, you either don't even know you get it, or else you get mild symptoms.

The old " an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" applies here.  Get your immune system working at optimal efficiency and strength.

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/04/factors-allow-viruses-infect-humans-coronavirus/

So the point is, why weren't all your pro maskers wearing masks before covid knowing that there are 10 to the 31st power of viruses out there waiting to get you?  Might as well also keep wearing them for the rest of your life just to be safe.

Your wife's name does not have to be on the house for where you are living to apply for a extension based upon marriage.

I cannot understand why she would not be willing  to spend a few hours at immigration with you to apply for an extension.

It should not be any problem to use the non-o visa you have now to apply for an extension based upon being the parent of a Thai.

There is no required requirement in the police order for the 400k baht to be in the bank for any amount when applying for extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai. But a few odd offices have been reported as want it to be in the bank for 2 months.

Some offices are wanting to see proof the 400k baht is still in the bank when you return to get the extension stamp.

If have seen no reports of the anybody getting a multiple entry non-o visa in Vietnam or the Philippines based upon being the parent of a Thai. The only confirmed nearby location is at the consulate in Penang and they want to see the 400k baht a bank an/or proof of income.

wow that sounds very scary, what should we do?

The police have roadblocks across the country,

with one goal in mind, find anything to site a citation for.

For foreigners the police are already writing down the license plate of the vehicle before you even get to speak with them about why you was pulled over, and what might be wrong...?

Now you're writing we have to be concerned with vigilantes with slingshots.

I have read about these reports on facebook, but in my area more locals are wearing the mask as some sort of fashion statement, or chin guard than anything else.

I do agree that even with islands cut off from flights or ferry service to or from the islands, how is it that the area can be infected? Then there is the case of the entire country being cut off from inbound flights, so again how can there be an infection to spread, when we are going on five months for something that was supposed to have a shelf life of just two to three weeks?

Even if we wanted to give more time to allows those that were spreading it, to come under control, that should have been fully out in the open and everyone that could be exposed within a time period of say forty five days. This is just logical thinking, and of course my own personal opinion, as I process all that's going on in this country at the moment, it is not in any way what I think about what others do or don't do, that is up to each person.

It sounds like Stadtler likes living on the edge. Indeed a rebel.

While I was parked up at the market the other day, I did

notice maybe 6 Thais that weren't wearing a mask,so it

looks like slowly masks are coming off.

Then you have the UK ,you see on the News, very few people

wearing masks, and the death rates and infections have been

very high compared to Thailand, people still dying everyday

from Covid 19.

regards worgeordie

I wear mine depending on the situation, but purely not to offend Thais.

Is there nobody around, mask pulled down below the mouth.

Otherwise I do my adjustments as I see fit.

Then the odds are with Stadtler.  There are so many idiots wearing masks below their nose, that the slingshots have many targets.  Stadtler is not scared.  Are you?
