Sounds like the TAT chiefs want to find ways of rinsing the captive farang community whilst rinsing anyone wishing to get back where do you report dual price quarantine????

I have an idea for an expat attraction: Slap Anutin

I'd pay money for that, heck I pay dual price!

  • Popular Post

why spend tens of thousands on a holiday, when you have a swimming pool in the moo baan

the sea is super polluted or you have those vendors, jetski ripoff's, overpriced taxi, restaurant branches on the "islands" are more expensive

no thank you

Im actually surprised at the figure of 2 milliion. I new farang numbers were a lot , but didnt think it was that many. Just think of the profits in Re-entry Permits !

Let the retiree back in and this would certainly improve relations with the expat community. How about openly give long timers with family easy PR's!

and the "two million expatriates" who work and live and have families in Thailand.

To encourage the Thai market he is planning on utilizing the appeal of Thai celebs Weir Sukollawat and Bella Ranee for promotional material.

I'm not sure that will work. As an expat living here I've never heard of "Thai celebs Weir Sukollawat and Bella Ranee".

Here's an idea, instead of ending dual pricing how about first continuing it with preferential reduced rates for expats that are cheaper than Thais? This will pay for past unfair practices and also make some overpriced Thai attractions more attractively priced to many expats stuck here, out of work and unable to travel to work due to covid.

Nah didn't think so, I'll get my coat.

When I see Anutin down on his knees apologizing, then I will think about it. After all I am one of the dirty unwashed Ai Farang so why would you want me travelling around your precious country mixing with the superior thai people

Bella Ranee

She was in the hit TV series   that promoted "everyone" to go around dressed as  "olde Ayutthayins"

Quote

'Love Destiny' is about a woman archaeologist who, after a car accident, wakes up in the body of a woman living in Ayutthaya during the reign of King Narai the Great, who lived from 1632 to 1688.

Oh dear.

This has been discussed at length in the Phuket forum and this poster has obviously either ignored or misunderstood that the hotel in question is closed at the moment, hence the price set so that nobody will book!

I would help but the Thai government really needs to stop making it difficult for foreigners with families to live here. Make it easier not harder! ????

Why the hell just not say  "We are closed"  ???????

I believe most of the stranded tourists are doing there job at keeping what is left open ( I am at least). They are still spending money here, and due to the fact the doors are still locked, its good that the government extended the amnesty.

Bit late now prior to corona uncountable dissatisfied expats have left this place. Better set up another sub board panel to figure out why ! Good luck..

I for one would love to help Thailand out.But they have to help us first by letting

us live as human's here.Start by stop basing everything on money.I have been her for more

than 20 years and because I live on a small pension.I have to leave Thailand every year

and get a non o mult visa in Laos.So now on the 26 of sept. I have to get out of Thailand

not knowing when I will see my family again. Lets be fair.

You wish, very pleasing to the farang ego, but the original article implies no such thing. They're looking for ways to encourage domestic tourism and have targeted Thais previously. So expats are next in the list for some incentives as well. It's a tit-for-tat, actually.

Gross exaggeration. No. Could be helpful, though.

"Save" is a TVF spin not found in the Thai Rath article. Worked beautifully as usual.

So sorry guys, but this month I am using my available travel funds to pay for a totally unnecessary insurance to satisfy A-O retirement visa extension of stay requirements! I have full perfect European insurance coverage while in Thailand... But mai pen rai.... it is not being

accepted for Thai visa  extension of stay purposes.

Maybe this is one of the things in the top 20 list of priorities to sort out.

I totally agree but they probably have a marketing manager who thinks it looks bad! It's like businesses that claim to close for renovation when they've really closed because there's no custom. Very common practice in Phuket during low season. You can see there's no renovation when they open again!

So after years of abuse (TM30s, dual pricing, more and more hoops to jump through, can’t buy land, can’t do this, can’t do that).... NOW they want our money?

hmmmm

good luck with that!

how about this:

Abolish dual pricing, abolish 90 day reporting, introduce a program a little like Malaysia my Second Home and make life easier for us....

THEN we will bail you out.

deal ?

Nothing b4 they don't drop the stupid mask and social distancing rules in pubs, bars, gogos in a locked country which has no cases for 2 months

When I have similar rights to what you have in my country then I may put it under advisement until then.......

Not even if you came crawling on bare knees over a mile of broken glass.

A good start would be to let all stranded Expats in again.

But maybe to easy solution.

"No More dual pricing at ANY facilities, that includes hotels, restaurants, water parks, natural parks and so forth"

Don't forget the dual pricing at hospitals and other medical facilities.
