He's merely being pragmatic as well as a highly astute but failing businessman.    ????

The Times reported that Trump, who is seeking re-election in November, paid just $750 (588.47 pounds) in federal income taxes in both 2016 and 2017, and paid no income taxes in 10 of the last 15 years,

Joe Biden in 2017 & 2018 paid 3.7 m in taxes. Decency versus immorality masquerading as POTUS.

Amazon did not pay a dime either.

Yes, which is why many Americans in the working middle class are incensed. Sadly, those supporters of The Donald in 2016 believed him when he said he was going to “drain the swamp”. They did not think (perhaps did not have the ability to do so), nor did they read his personal history up to that point to understand he is a charlatan.

Read somewhere that he has 300 million dollars of debts that need to be paid over the next four years or in four years apparently! Maybe that is when things will come to an end???

I wonder if people realise there's a difference between personal taxes and corporate tax paid by the dozens of corporations which may or may not pay a salary in the various jurisdictions around the world?

Looks like another big yawn.  The media will bang the pots and pans as long as they can to try to make it an issue.  It'll fade like the others.

Yes, our attention is drawn to this news. But the reality is the court action already underway based on the tax fraud reported.

isn't Barr in control of the SDNY.... tossed under the rug or prosecutor dismissed

No, action is also being brought by the State of New York which will limit Barr.

You are correct, I should have pointed to the Attorney General of New York court action investigating Trump.

It will be once again humourous to see all the posters come out and uncritically treat this news as "truth."  Is this another hit piece in the vein of Trump calling vets losers and suckers or the Russians paying the Taliban a bounty to kill U.S. troops?  Seems all of these unfounded accusations experience shorter and shorter shelf lives.

Let's see how long the "veracity" of this hit piece lasts.

100% one sided arguement its not like donald would ever throw out wild unfounded theories? obama birth ect with this total "fake news" the donald could reveal all and prove how fake it is? oh no why should he perhaps coz he promised to?

How does it go with republicans "a promise made is?"

oh yes i remember a promise made is just a promise made

Hope no one is surprised!

I doubt that either his supporters or his detractors are surprised but only the former will ignore it or tout it as a virtue.

From Wikipedia:

"In 1982, Trump was listed on the initial Forbes list of wealthy individuals as having a share of his family's estimated $200 million net worth. His financial losses in the 1980s caused him to be dropped from the list between 1990 and 1995.[55]

In its 2020 billionaires ranking, Forbes estimated Trump's net worth at $2.1 billion[a] (1,001st in the world, 275th in the U.S.)[58] making him one of the richest politicians in American history and the first billionaire American president.[58]

During the three years since Trump announced his presidential run in 2015, Forbes estimated his net worth declined 31% and his ranking fell 138 spots.[59] When he filed mandatory financial disclosure forms with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) in July 2015, Trump claimed a net worth of about $10 billion;[60] however, FEC figures cannot corroborate this estimate because they only show each of his largest buildings as being worth over $50 million, yielding total assets worth more than $1.4 billion and debt over $265 million.[61]"

He also supposedly got a $70,000 deduction for hair styling.  For something that looks like cotton candy made from pee.

Which Michael Cohen claimed on TV earlier is a lie by Trump because he said Trump does his own hair.

Wait. Are you saying there's a connection with his hair and the hooker he hired in the Russian hotel?

Things are falling into place now.

Trump was complaining about other companies not paying taxes. Trump complained half the American people didn't pay taxes. Get your talking points in order, sir!

My talking points are perfectly in order. You can go ahead and side with a wasteful, large, inefficient government that is addicted to spending all you want. I will always side with those who do all they can to deny them their revenue.

Denying the government revenue is the same as denying crack to a crack head. You can fall on whatever side of that argument you would like, but clearly there is a right and a wrong side.

And is Trump personally rich or does he only somehow own lots of companies who pay for everything for him?

If he never paid personal taxes then he must be almost broke. Or does he only live from donations?

I admire anyone who legally gets away with not paying their fair share of taxes.

So you don't admire people who pay their fair share of taxes?

How very Trumpian if you.
