Just bought a pick up

In a previous thread I was asking information about the Ford Ranger Wildtrack.

During the previous weeks I have been visiting the car dealers and I have finally opted for the Nissan N Trek Warrior, a limited edition of just 300 Navara pick up trucks.

Many reasons for that.

On top of being very nice, in a beasty kind of way, the Warrior is 70k cheaper than the equivalent Wildtrak.

While the Warrior is sold as shown in the photo, the Wildtrak needs to be customized at great cost to look anything like that (almost 40k just for the wheels).

The only thing where the Wildtrak best the Warrior is in raw power, with its 210 hp, against 190 hp, but who's counting at this level?

Finally, both Nissan and Ford are offering 0% credit over 48 months, which is a great opportunity.

Contrary to what other members have written in recent threads, car dealers, at least in Ubon, are not much inclined to give significant discounts to those offering to pay cash.

  • Dude, you are referring to a sticker for a Nissan Navara, not the car.

  • is there a spec listed for how many farm girls you can get in a Navara vs. a Wildtrack?   that would be a important selling point for me.

Will do...the car is still with the dealer...I have asked for some extra stickers, UV film over the window screens, and a roll lid in the back...should be ready by the end of the week...

You are missing a 0 for the monthly payment, plus a bit more...

Down payment is 35%

Looks gorgeous!  post once it's all dolled-up.

At the end of the day it boils down to preferences, usage and $'s.

Congratulations on your purchase, no doubt you will be enjoying it, nothing like the fresh smell of a new car, well actually ????

If Mercedes did their homework and then decided to use Nissan as their base truck, then I don't think you could go far wrong, though Nissan resale value may not be to your liking..

Not too many pickups are questionable nowadays, although after-sales servicing might be.

Nissan is a pretty good buy, solid built. All the Japanese makes are. Enjoy.

Bruno, we are expecting that when you take delivery, you must post a picture of you sprawling across the bonnet, wearing Trans' pink leotard.

:w00t: ????

It looks nice .

It is more of a show truck than a work truck ...?

Is the big front bumper solid ?

Just bought an Isuzu , the plastic front bumper fell off the first time I was using it offroad ... 55

The front bumper is metal, not plastic...

I don't.

About 20 years ago I bought a Nissan Frontier pick up, which I sold easily, for a good price, 10 years and almost 200,000 km later.

Given my actual age, I plan on keeping this one until...the end...

Dunno, was just a point..........????

The Ford pick ups do look pretty I must admit but always have the worry of a Ford breaking down so for me it would be the same choice as you the  Nissan

I hear Nissan like chevrolet and other companies is leaving thailand so hope that will not cause any problems for the future . Non the less hope you are happy with your purchase it looks nice congrats ????

Front bumpers are not meant to be used as dozer blades :whistling:

what did you have to do to qualify for credit? job? income?

Course they don’t give discounts for cash the dealership makes more money when you finance it in America when you finance a car sometimes a dealership is making gross profit of another $3000 of the financial charges and the extended warranty’s and all the La Di Da stuff

Here's one picture of the interior. Just Google it and you can get pictures of everything in the pickup. You can also check out Youtube.

If I'm right. I like the "rubber bumper" between the bumper and fender, below the headlight.

I just bought a Toyota Rocco , I wouldn’t think about a Nissan , I want resale value

Not much really.

My wife doesn't have any income, but she has a perfect credit score.

I acted as guarantor, showing my bank statement with my monthly pension.

Here is the car with its stickers on the side.

I asked for a change in the back because I didn't like the result of my first choice.

I wouldn't be buying any Ford vehicles in Thailand; in my opinion, they'll be exiting the Thai market in the near future (like GM). My FB feed is filled with ads for the "last" few Rangers available in Thailand. Renault/Nissan has serious manufacturing QC and service issues in many markets...I hope for you it's not so in Thailand. I generally stick to Hondas and Toyos.

we bought the nissan navara calibre sportech 21/2 years ago and love it, great to drive, very comfortable and has all the extras as standard plus it looks good. Hasnt missed a beat either, great fuel economy around town and on a long drive, 7 speed auto that can be slotted over for manual changing and as you say the price is a lot better than the equivelent ford.
