There can be only one farang per hundred square kilometer. It's a turf thing, we're territorial.

Love it when someone starts using the Golden Mean. Although I doubt you were thinking of Aristotle.

I find that many of the westerners I come across have some quirks about them, or are total nutcases to be honest... Not all, but many... Thailand is a place for many misfits..

Sorry for this remark.

Is that place for misfits based on yourself, maybe?

Obviously you mix with the wrong people.......

Was it because he was Dutch? When I was in the Netherlands, everyone was polite. Do some farangs acquire new norms of courtesy when they move abroad?

I've found the Dutch polite too. Lived there for a while too. German 100%

There is more hate and negative judgement in this world then any time I can remember.  Just hearing a voice or accent and it seems to create negativity without even knowing the person.

And sadly, it is not going to get better any time soon.

Yes I agree. It seems everyone is fighting, arguing with each other all the time. Trolling everywhere, keyboard warriors, & others who just want to 'put you right'.

I wonder where it will all end. Badly, I fear.

"Misfits" might be too strong a word. But yes many came because they believed some bargirl would fill the emptiness of the 50 or 60 years of their previous lives.

Too many friendly guys here.

I was at TrueMove today, waiting for an attendant to serve me. Another farang simply pushed in front of me, and started talking to the attendant.

Goes to show other nationality share commonalities with Thais.

I don't let anyone, Thai, or otherwise cut in front of me unremarked.

"Because it's their country" is a very weak excuse and doesn't excuse that kind of behaviour.

...and how about the quality foreigners 'cutting in'?

It obviously is NOT their country.
