Or the U.S.? I hope not because I have a retired friend who has been locked out of Thailand since March, when he took a trip to the Philippines. He has gone through the steps to get his COE, and is scheduled to fly out vrom the U.S. on the 23rd and arrive on the 25th of this month.

Just a knee jerk reaction to the more infectious strain of the virus found in the UK. at least that's my guess. They just need some time to calm down.????

Continental Europe slammed the door on them.

Knee jerk reaction?  How many are dying every day?  Right, stay calm...

How many people die every day from non-covid causes? Barely an upward blip in excess deaths and the MSM-induced panic/hysteria kicks into gear.

BS.  You really need a better source for your news.  Conspiracy theories aren't appreciated here.  Nor allowed.

if they are paying for the ASQ then what is the issue?

We have seen the lockdowns did more damage then good. I am sure many  Brits  would want to visit thailand to meet their half thai kids and wife/gf. If they are ready to go through all this hassle of COE, Insurance, ASQ etc then what is the issue?

Lockdowns did more damage than good? Seems they, together with other measures, more or less eliminated the virus here.

I do agree with you that with testing and 14 days quarantine in place the risk of importing contamination from the UK is really low.

Don't you know that the EU has banned all flights from the UK. Thailand should obviously do the same

Strange, since the topic is clearly related to only Thailand and the UK.

But that does not answer the question, even worldwide, lockdowns did more damage than good, as you claim?

but if they do that, wont they loose on all the money the ASQ's would make?

That does not answer your statement that lockdowns did more bad than good. But OK, your values are clear.

No conspiracy theories here. Just delve a bit deeper than the Daily Mail, ask yourself a few questions about what you're being told, do some research and come to your own conclusions.

The daily mail?  Seriously?  Ya gotta be kidding me....

It'll happen - and rightly so. Scientists have discovered that's it's 70% more effective at infecting people and has a high number of mutations.

People shouldn't be flying from the UK anyway. Anyone who is infected on the plane has a higher chance of infecting others - including when they are transfering to their ASQ.

Silver lining - COVID extensions may be easier to get for those of us already here.
