Popular Post Surelynot
Is this similar to the "Teachers seriously in debt" story.....it turned out that the teachers were entitled to ludicrously low or even zero interest rate loans......so they borrow as much as allowed?

Popular Post wensiensheng
It’s interesting isn’t it. It’s hard to see how police income is effected by Covid or lack of tourists. They still receive their salary. The only possible reason why their income has suffered is that kickbacks and bribes from bars, massage parlors, gambling dens and extortion of tourists is down. this article is tacit admission of the corruption issues within rtp. But without a decent salary, what else can you expect?

Here is my question: The police force as a whole still receives a regular pay check. Please explain why they should be receiving government aid/special treatment when numerous industries and many more individuals have no income at all and do not get any aid from the government or institutions. Those individuals will see your request as a slap in their faces: Help my officers, because they irresponsibly bought a new car they can't afford , as opposed to: Help the Thai people to pay their rent, utilities, food! They get these jobs, and think as they are government workers they is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ,well wrong they are the same as anyone else ,need to learn how to manage money . My SIL found out that you needed a degree to get a govt job. Presto she had a degree in a month or so? She got the coveted job and immediately went to Govt Housing Bank and borrowed a cool million. Bought a new car and a few other toys.It doesn't end there. Then she found out if you had a masters degree you could earn even more . OMG a couple months later she had acquired a masters degree. Shes either very clever or ? Her and hubby can barely make payments these days. Yes a gov't job is like winning the lottery except the banks want their money back at some point. I have a strong feeling that a lot of the $ my wife inherits from my estate will go straight to the elder sister with all the degrees. Maybe I should get that Rolex I always wanted.

globalspark
i am sure the kickbacks from bar owners have vanished since this Covid causing cash flow problems. Also the poor farangs are not there riding motor bikes and getting stopped for any reason you care to think off has gone. Can you imagine how much revenue that generates to the police force which has now gone. The locals cannot afford or will not pay for these stupid fines which where dished up to us for years. When the borders open up why not incorporate the vax tax with the handout tax and that should solve the shortfall for police officers in debt.It could be called the VTHT. Plima
I've lost my resort due to the pandemic. when I went to the bank to ask for a soft loan, that the government had promised to roll out, the answer was that any company with foreign director(s) will not be entitled to get a loan. Result bankruptcy 22 people jobless. Discrimination at it's finest.... Thanks you! 2

kg1947
at B 1,000,000.- p/officer - average debt , not really out if line .... a simple car plus an average house is all it takes . Will the General go after certain HIGH VALUE individuals - the one he's not supposed to touch ?? Get INTERPOL to round up some fugitives , after they paid their " sins " ..... let them loose in the International crowd again. That will bring in B 270,000,000,000.-- in a hurry ... maybe B 1.-TRILLION ?? then you wipe off ... ALL their DEBTS plus more .... Edited January 30, 2021 by metisdead Bold font removed. True, however what's urgently also needed is living salaries and salaries which are equal to proper measurement of the levels of difficulty to do the job etc., and permanent policies which reduce the gap and ensure the gap is according to an agreed formula. Reducing the gap can happen and IMHO is urgently needed. Look at Japan, the gap is small because of serious social attitudes about sharing and everybody entitled to have a good life, and law. It can be done. But I'm not holding my breath.

They have more power than you and they may resort to using it in way you wont like. A very pertinent observation. Most of the numerous coups in Thailand have debt and enrichment as their driving force. The old group was/is muscled away from the trough so that the next lot can get at it. Therefore it behooves any nation to have a properly remunerated and disciplined police force-and armed forces too for that matter-something that Thailand,Myanmar,Laos and Cambodia sadly lacks. Thereby the rule of the "strongman". 1

As far as I'm aware all police have been working all through Covid, they have even been paid a bonus per hour if work was related to Covid 19, they have received salaries as normal so why the sudden huge debt? Living well beyond the monthly pay-check it seems. Could it be linked to another more lucrative income stream has been affecting the extra luxuries in life? 2
