The EU is Australia's second largest trading partner....don't imagine they will be in a rush to "queer their pitch" by being too quick to sign a trade deal with the UK.

I doubt even the EU would be petty and vindictive enough to stop trading with countries that sign a deal with the UK.

 

If they are, given the fantastic job that Liz Truss is doing signing deals around the world, they're going to have a very long list of countries that they won't be trading with.

Taking into account the fact that vaccine supply is not extensible on short term and that there are still Brits waiting to be vaccinated, what is the UK government going to do (in case it does anything, it seems It's just a rumour at this moment)?

Most of those deals are simply roll overs of those we had when EU members; so nothing new there.

Exports to the EU from Britain have been subject to controls since 1 January, but the government decided to opt for a phased approach on EU imports to give hauliers and business more time to adapt.

Checks were due to be introduced in stages from 1 April and from 1 July, but in recent days traders and ports have said they are not ready and that the introduction of processes as originally planned could lead to empty supermarket shelves.

rationally speaking, I still wonder why in this situation, the UK puts Frost in charge, breaks the WA again and inflames tensions.

Thank you for the further evidence of the EU's ineptitude, since I presume these exports of the vaccine manufactured within the EU territory are honouring the orders contracted prior to the EU getting their act together.

Nice bit of propaganda there at the end, since you don't identify any of the EU produced vaccines as having been donated by the EU to underdeveloped countries.

The UK's foreign aid programme has, historically, surpassed any of the EU nations commitment.
