A family in Si Racha, Chonburi hope they have found another so called "Melo Pearl".

Melo pearls are very valuable and can sell for millions of baht. One was found the other week in the south of Thailand though the finder suffered mixed fortunes.

Monthian Jansuk, 40, and his wife Wasana, 44, who live in a camp, fancied a seafood dinner and went to Saphan Pla in Laem Chabang to buy prawns, shellfish and fish for dinner.

Monthian, an operator of towing equipment from Phetchabun, saw a large Hoi Khong (also known as an apple snail) and asked the lady selling it if it was edible as he had never tried it.

Yes, she assured him, it would be delicious and was only 50 baht.

What's more it was the last one.

They went back home and as their son was separating the flesh he found the ball of orange. They initially thought it was roe but on closer inspection it was hard and inedible.

Now after some Googling they think they could be the owners of a Melo pearl. They are contacting experts for confirmation.

They will hope to get better luck than a man in Nakhon Sri Thammarat. He hoped to get 10 million baht from a Chinese businessman who saw the find.

Instead the local police recognised the Thai man after he appeared in the press bragging about his discovery on a beach.

They realised he was wanted in connection with 16,000 meth pills found near his house and promptly arrested him.

When you find something strange, the first thing you do is put it in your mouth. Just like babies do. :passifier:

An if they get on Amazon they can get a matching necklace , earrings and bangle for a very reasonable ten quid ..

What did the sloth say after being mugged by snails .?

" It all happened so fast " ...

Maybe lucky with this:-

What happened to  the two guys who found the first pearl

did they receive their 10 million baht from the Chinese guy who was seemingly flying to Thailand to collect it????

I know about the first one getting locked up on drug charges

Their story of rags to riches has fallen of the news wires?
