The faces of abuse in Thailand: "Professor" goes berserk attacking child over homework then wife

The shocking state of abuse in Thai families was highlighted by a damning case in Chonburi on Sunday.

What should have been a loving day - it was Valentine's Day - turned to violence.

A professor at a well known university attacked his secondary school daughter with blows to the face because she was having difficulty with her homework.

"A" suffered bruising to her eyes.

Enraged by the actions of the father, the wife, named only as "B", started filming to get evidence of his brutality.

She was next - her husband turned on her cutting her over the eye and leaving her covered in blood.

When rescue services and Samed police arrived they were given first aid. A son was also in the house at the Privacy housing estate.

Daily News reported that charges are being pressed and the police are in contact with the father.

  • Are the police actually serious? They are in contact with the abuser, gawd sake, the man should be locked up awaiting his court appearance, for assault/battery.

Why is he not arrested? Time for the police to do their work, or do they need someone to give them 10k baht extra for that?

Yeah, very sad but true.

It's very sad that we see not only such regular violence from teachers here, but such apathy from the police who should treat such crimes far more aggressively and swiftly than they do. The pathetic penalties often dished out don't help matters either. When you strike a student or child, and it is a 5 year mandatory prison sentence, we may see the levels come down.

Perhaps they feel he has not done anything wrong, or is no longer a danger to them! That is damning enough too.

unfortunately the arrogance of some is always on display here, can only be put down to the culture of male dominance, what sort of father could hit his own daughter over having trouble with homework, he should be banned from ever teaching again and locked up for a double assault, nothing but a pathetic piece of excrement

Can't say I've ever seen an animal do anything like this, they seem more civilized, it's more a human trait!

A Professor at a well known university, yet both are unnamed. What are they really trying to say here.  Be careful in what you say during a heated argument with anyone who has skin in the game, and definitely don't try to video it, as you will be on the receiving end is what I get from this OP.

most offenses occur within a family against family members,

police think this is a private issue

The faces of abuse in Thailand are pixelated and the abusers misunderstood

Is this not the third report on TVF in a week of stupid and criminal behaviour by a teacher of kids? They are truly a set of morons when it comes to Thai supposed 'education'.

OK to pass judgement with a third party version of an event?

No

Hope there will be a follow-up story when the professor wakes up to find wife and daughter are about to commit murder ????

Sheesh, have you not learned yet ? First week they ask him come in and then a week or so for them to consider and ask for an arrest warrant.

This happens far to often in Thailand. There is not enough discipline when they are young so when they get older it's to late as they do what they want to do. And this is where the problem starts big time.

Just be careful, many Thai's have hidden, violent underbelly! Face!

...should read...The pathetic Policeforce often does not their work,no pride in wearing their uniform at all..

If he is teaching he needs sacked and jailed and never be in contact with children

Here we go again.

The ever so insecure Thai male at it again

OK for this teacher to be free to threaten further violence if the case is not dropped when there is strong evidence against him?

No

There are few things as good as a great teacher, few things as bad as a poor or abusive one. Thailand has both. It's time they sorted the wheat from the chaff.

Jail this chaff.
