PHUKET: The drunken Phuket police officer who shot a noodle vendor on Bangla Rd, Patong, early yesterday morning will face at least three charges, including attempted murder, the Phuket Provincial Police chief has confirmed.

Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Pornsak Nuannu late yesterday explained that he has ordered investigating officers to prosecute the shooter, Cpl Pornthep Channarong, with every criminal charge that can be applied.

“I have already ordered Patong Police to process him three charges: attempted murder, carrying a firearm in a public area without necessary reason, and firing a weapon in a public area,” Maj Gen Pornsak said.

Well done General Pornsak, exactly what he needs.

The mans a clown, getting drunk, carrying a gun trying to get in a nightclub, any man doing that is bad enough, but a policeman, shocking.

The video of the attempted execution is sickening.

What he should be 'facing' is a Firing Squad !

Will probably get off with a Wai and a 500 baht fine, under the influence of alcohol, not in right mind, badda bing, badda bang, badda boom.

Maybe he gets hit by a car travelling at high speed crossing the road, ooops, break failure.

A case of attempted murder. Surprised that an order is necessary. Don't they have written law here?

They do but it's underwritten with small print.

Shocking,but not unusual,unfortunately ????.

No mention of the victim whom I hope is recovering.
Opss!  Nevermind.  Have to read the article.  Don't see a video.

That should apply to every field policeman.....Oh wait.....He forgot to clarify that the accused was off duty and out of uniform (although he was probably wearing items from the 'off-duty fashion catalogue.

It was attempted murder (homicide) not an execution.

I was at the gym today and next to it there was an off duty cop in his white tee and brown uniform pants. A group of mates, enjoy a drink, the usual. But today, I noticed he was not playing the air guitar but air pistol. That's right, he was practicing his form for firing that pistol!

I thought to myself, was he worried about his ability to fire a pistol? Or could he be reflecting on the poor noodle vendor and another officer was in the WRONG.

The most shocking thing about it is that he just shot the next best guy passing by because the bouncer wouldn’t let him in the club! Why didn’t he shoot the bouncer? By that I don’t mean he should’ve done that, but I really don’t get shooting the fruit vendor! He had nothing to do with it whatsoever!

Good they will prosecute him. Sometimes they surprise me!

I agree that it's good to prosecute him but what is more important is that they get a solid conviction.

The bouncers would shoot and maybe killed him first if he would go after them.

Noodle guy was next easy target to compensate his loss of face.
