How are governments etc going to "prove" you have been fully vaccinated?

Time to get the colour laser printer/barcode/QR code reader and laminator ready.  Especially now that all the copy shops (ID Cards etc) in KSR and elsewhere in Thailand have closed.

Looks like this will replace the old yellow vaccination booklet - IATA travel pass app:

"IATA also aims to provide governments with the confidence to reopen borders without imposing quarantines on incoming travelers."

Why would arriving tourist have a Thai yellow vaccination book, we will have vaccination records from our point of departure.

"will have vaccination records from our point of departure."  Produced on my printer!

It should be both dates, but the 2nd dose supposedly fully kicks in after 28 days after that injection.

Where am I, our status becomes a Star after 28 days of the 2nd dose

But who knows what will happen

yeah!  - like if one is still OK at day 280?

Trying to understand the logic of 7 days quarantine if vaccinated and only 3 days longer if not. I'm waiting for my shots in March/April and was hoping to take the bus from the airport to my place in Hua Hin.

Oh well, next step is which visa - Retirement, STV or Tourist as wish to stay at least six months. I resent medical insurance impost, given I get free travel insurance so thinking about Tourist visa, get married and convert ????

Does anyone know if you can you do a visa run these days to Laos ????

As for your question: no, you can’t.

we have this for returning.

residents and nationals in Phase III of the vaccine trials or taking part in the National Vaccination Programme, are exempt from quarantine on arrival into Abu Dhabi if they are travelling from any of the countries or regions listed above. This is valid 28 days after you have completed your second vaccine dose.

For peace of mind and protection, COVID-19 PCR testing is mandatory for all flights. Most destinations require you to take your test 72 hours before your flight departure time. All destinations have dierent requirements,

That is my whole point.

There need to be a UN/WHO/World wide "fool proof" agreed electronic system.

Bits of locally produced paper will not work.

It will take months/years for the world to agree a failsafe system.

no entirely true, most current documents, health insurance, fit to fly, COVID insurance are different versions of the documents required, proof of ASQ hotel, some have to be submitted online, some only carried for the journey, for example the negative test 72 hours prior can’t be submitted due to time constraint, so it’s really just a checklist item, whether its real doesn’t really come into it.

Some forgery will happen that guaranteed

Yes well an island nation isolated from the rest of the world who closed the borders 12 months ago to the world.

Dumb and Dumber could have dealt with that situation.

The UK seemed to have a problem with it.

Tourists excluded from this plan:

Those who have completed their vaccine schedule more than 3 months before travelling to Thailand.

Families with children under 18, who currently can't be vaccinated.

And, as always, and perhaps most importantly, people who don't want to fly somewhere to be under mandatory quarantine for a significant portion of their holiday.

2/10 must try harder.

As I said previously,

  • vaccination and proof is 1st step,
  • a Negative PCR test within 72-96 hours will be 2nd step,

Both combined should mitigate 14 day quarantine

10 days instead of 14, getting better. 7 days quarantine with just a negative PCR and I'm in.

It was never 14 days. It was 15 nights-16 days

It's flattening off now, and in fact going back up in Spain , Italy

Yes, unfortunately the EU countries have been very slow off the mark with their vaccination programs.

Percentage vaccinated:

UK 31.82%

Spain 8.68%

Italy 7.87%

Not happening guys, not official. It’s still farcical and won’t make a dent on their tourism sector.

Also on The Nation Thailand website.

Think you will be disappointed.
