Former truck driver in his native Germany Claus H., aged 59, thought Pattaya would be the ideal place for his retirement.

 

Then he met a lady boy by the name of Phanatchai or Por Por in a local bar and got mixed up in the drug taking community.

 

Taking drugs led to dealing for the pair who had become lovers, said Pol Col Dunyaphat Techapornchayasin after their arrests at Claus's house yesterday evening in Soi Khao Talo.

 

A secret agent had arranged a sting to buy "ice" with the money for the drugs being transferred to the German's account after Por Por, 29, arranged the collection.

Drug agents waiting nearby swooped after it was confirmed as ice. 

 

39.16 grams were recovered, two phones were taken into evidence and 300,000 baht was seized.

 

Sophon Cable TV on Facebook further revealed that the drugs were sold to the couple by a Thai woman who is married to a foreigner.

 

Claus and Por Por have been charged with possession and dealing in Class 1 drugs and investigations continue to discover where they got the drugs from.

The worst part for this German idiot - after serving a lengthy jail term in arguably one of the worst prisons on the planet, he will be deported then put on a terrorist watch list. He will not be able to travel for at least ten years. This happened to a friend of mine (who I had warned NOT to get involved with illegal drugs in LOS!) and he is screwed for the next decade.

For any ex-pat who suspects that any foreigner or Thai they know is having anything to do with illegal substances, I suggest cutting them out of one's life immediately. Plausible deniability may not go very far here.

Thought the same thing. On the other hand he can pimp his g-friend out and can actually make some money supporting themselves in there. I would also think the don't have to go cold sober as they might be able to get  that stuff in there. so only thing changers is where they live and certain freedoms.

Do you really believe that every convicted drug dealer is placed on a terrorist (!) watch list?

 

If they have served their sentence, they have as much right as anybody to travel.. Subject to entry regulations of a given country and whether they check for convictions. (most don't)  Sheesh... Anti-drug propaganda.

 

Awful lot of convicted people in the world due to the War on Drugs..

I'm just posting what I witnessed. And yes, I can see these vindictive people screwing this guy by putting him on a terrorist watch list. My friend's sin was pot, more than just for personal use but not much. This idiot was selling meth.

So Claus asked his buyers of illegal drugs, ultimately including a police officer conducting a sting operation, to transfer money to his personal bank account. Let's just say I don't think that's very clever.
