Bluntly ? UK,  USA fatter populace, older populace and better health care successfully keeping older and sick people going longer. When unknown virus comes along with no vaccine it wipes out any benefits made and kills those deliberately abusing their bodies. Of the 43 active clusters in Bangkok, 15 were found in construction-worker camps, 12 around markets and shopping centres, seven in crowded communities, six at businesses, two at care homes and one at an embassy.

These are not clusters anymore...not sure why anyone is buying this ruse anymore...you could join all the dots between clusters to form one massive outbreak if they did more testing.

A prediction of the next interesting element of this outbreak.

 

Many provinces with low cases are now up in arms because they have been out to the back of the queue for vaccines.

 

What if those provinces now realise they have shot themselves in the foot with low testing and change their approach in order to move themselves higher up the queue to get vaccinations.

 

Soinds crazy I know but could happen in a place like this. Will be an interesting theme to keep an eye on.

How does the western region go from 700 to 100 cases a day overnight. It defies what we know about Covid. Lack of testing can really be the only answer.

I was here too and they certainly did not disappear from Phuket in late Jan, it was not until March that we saw a decline. 

 

The first outbreak in Wuhan was on 31st Dec there were thousands of Chinese that came to Thailand after that.

Songkran travel started on the 9th just for information. Many had gone north where we were starting on the 8th. A large wedding consisting of HI So folks was held at the hotel we stayed at in Chiang Mai with over 100 folks many having driven their Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes up from Bangkok.  I even discussed this on one of the posts.  Shortly after we returned to BKK was when cases started to gain traction everywhere and we self isolated.  Songkran had a direct impact, but it is nice you don't think so.
