1. As long as they continue this completely false narrative that cases are only happening in workers camps and factories then Thailand is completely doomed. It is everywhere now.

 

2. The real numbers are likely 10 times higher than stated if not more. You cannot effectively monitor and then build approprate measures if you are denying reality in this way.

 

3. Stop calling them clusters. This is throughout the whole of the community now and can no longer be classified as clusters. Again this continuos denial of reality only makes the issue worse.

 

4. There is no way in gods good earth that this is only focuses on Bangkok. It’s just that Bangkok is where the most testing is happening. In places like Chang Mai and Koran and Udon Thani tests may be in the hundreds or even tens per day.

 

5. The people in charge are in completely over their heads and have absolutely no idea what they are doing or what to do next.

If the hospitals in Bangkok city cannot accept any patients, this means that the hospital system is collapsing even if the PM states otherwise

This is seriously not getting any better, and locking down construction sites and construction camps is not the answer.   The government can not see what is truly happening because they are not able to see past their own views.  Yet they believe that opening up Phuket while testing each and every vaccinated tourist 4 times during a 14 day stay and then tracking them like they are an animal released back into society will keep the covid 19 from spreading. 

 

Am I missing something here folks? 

 

Do they really believe that, even though its possible, that a fully vaccinated tourist is going to be spreading Covid, or are they afraid that their own Thai people, not fully vaccinated will be the superspreaders, and give Thailand the final nail in the coffin it is so desperate for. 

 

What is this Governments problem.  I do understand the need for money to be made, but they sure as hell have failed in doing the right thing. Yes I obtained my first vaccination along with hundreds of other foreigners, but as one can see you can still be infected with the Delta variant.  This isn't funny anymore, yet they believe it is under control.  51 deaths tell me otherwis, and that this is not becoming more than a concern to many of us.  Protect yourselves, do your due diligence and keep safe folks.  I really see this as having expanded with the potential to truly go pear shaped.

So there is no alternative but a strict lockdown? Or we can have rampant, uncontrolled infection and an outbreak similar to what was experienced in USA, UK, India, Italy, Spain, etc?

It was announced, by our Phoo Ya Baan, many weeks ago, just before Songkran, at the start of the 3rd wave, that anyone returning to the village from the 'red zones' must self isolate for 2 weeks and must report any symptoms of Covid to the medical authorities.

 

As I recall this ruling was imposed nationwide and was the reason why so many people cancelled their trips home for Songkran. Bus companies reported 50% cancellations.

 

And it has been strictly enforced. There was even a family camping out down by the river for 2 weeks in order to isolate themselves.

If the Government had a vision and plan there would not be a shortage of beds. Is it not possible to check at all the hospitals in and around Bangkok how much beds there are available?? and yes if there is need.... maybe you have to travel further but so what?? That people die because of no available beds is not acceptable, even so the government must be responsible for the not working vaccines too, but who will do that??

It is very interesting to note from the Daily figures, that just over 2 Million have had both vaccinations, which has been around this number for a few days now.

However the number of people who are getting their first shot is rising steadily, from 6. 5  Million a couple of Days ago to over 8 Million today.

There in lies a story about people getting only one jab, and the Gov,t hoping and praying that this thing will go away with only the one Jab.

Well, the news is, that it will not go away with this pathetic attempt at protecting the people,

the people that you. as a Government are responsible for.

Very clearly a failure on all counts.

It is simply impossible to open up new ICU beds.  They require specialized equipment and people.  

This disease is bizarre - one person has no symptoms another has a trachea tube and is on their belly for a month with life altering injuries.  And that's not to say what long covid does to a person.  That is what truly scared me before I got my second dose.  

I worry for everyone.  Please just wear your mask, wash your hands, sterilize your phone.  Be very vigilant.  If anyone can turn this around it's all people in Thailand.

Don’t be silly. The type of strict Covid prevention measures that could be used have been amply demonstrated in other countries, indeed at times in Thailand. there’s no need to list them all again.
 

The authorities either fight to prevent the virus with the pro’s and con’s entailed in that, or allow it to run with all the pro’s and con’s in that. At the moment they are letting it run its course and once on that road, it will be hard to back out. 50 deaths a day appears to be acceptable to them, let’s see how they feel at 500 a day, 182,500 a year.

Neither testing or vaccination will reduce the number of cases to any great extent. The numbers have certainly taken a turn for the worst recently but I am not surprised.

We had electricity cut on Sunday(maintenance) and went over to Bang Saen for the afternoon. The beach was absolutely packed, even more so than a pre pandemic holiday weekend. Stretched from the old fishing pier towards Sri Ratch right along to the Ang Sila roundabout.

If the people have given up on the precautions then we are in for a bit of a rough ride.

Vaccines or lockdowns.  It's one or the other.  Period.

It's only a matter of time till the latter occurs.
