PHUKET: Police, soldiers, navy personnel and an assortment of other law-enforcement officers in Phuket have been given clear orders to ensure that any persons crossing the bridges onto or off Phuket comply with the COVID-19 protection measures.

Region 8 Police Commander Lt Gen Kitrat Panpetch delivered the message at a general assembly held at the Phuket Check Point at Tha Chatchai on Tuesday (June 29).

Present at the assembly were Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and leading officers from the Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command, the Royal Thai Army 41st Military Circle, which heads Army operations in Phuket, as well as officers form the Phuket branch of the Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) along with general police, volunteers and government officials.

No no, that's 2 triple admirals, lovely in white.

I hope there's a team on stand by to spread out starched/perfectly folded brilliant white handkerchiefs on their chairs before they sit down.

I can't speak for others but that's exactly how it appears to me.

It won't be any of those leading officers who will be doing any of this anyway.

'no fraternizing with the locals'

If I come through this route my wife may join me so there's never going to be any fraternising with the locals. Well not the female ones under 40 which is who I assume you were referring to.  ????

I'm sure I read that entry points for water based entry aren't ready yet.  I'm not sure if that's due to lack of thought or a possible easy entry for VIPs.

If only they had sorted it before the horse bolted.

Do they still shut down the bridges at night, due to staff need their sleep?

  Just wondering.
