Add to that the state of the world and upheavals going on...

What do you find yourself looking forward to... ??

At 65 all I have in my future is death. Not sure I'm looking forward to it.   But in the shorter term (next 5 minutes), I'm looking forward to a Full Moon dark wine cooler.

If the future looks dystopian , and it certainly does , it is well deserved . Human nature cannot change , it seems . It is still the same old and primitive instincts that dominate ( nearly ) eve

  • Certainly makes death seem like a good deal .

1 : an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized , fearful lives

It comes after brakes and before lug nuts...

Not much to look forward to at the moment, outside of being happy with Mme Thujone.

But close to ecstatic that I was young years ago.

I got a new fly swatter to nail the little bastards when I sit out in the garden in the afternoon.....killed 6 of the rascals today....saw something slinky and black scurry under a bush....too dark for a gecko...I'm hoping it wasn't a scorpion.

Leaving the country - esp backpacking in Myanmar or Munich - both would be good.

If the future looks dystopian , and it certainly does , it is well deserved .

Human nature cannot change , it seems . It is still the same old and primitive instincts that dominate ( nearly ) everyone's thinking . That is what brought all the trouble the world is in now .

It is time to take an evolutionary step foreward for our species , but that won't happen , as mankind cannot overcome their mental limitations . So , Dystopia knocking on the door , and no way to go back ...

At 65 , I found a place where i like to live , even if it changes to become more bad every year . I keep people as far away as possible , I am happy with my only true friends ( my dogs ) , and my wife .

I never wanted kids , and I was right about this .

I try to eat good food only , ( don't like meat anymore ) , have a few good drinks and my healthy Ganja tea ( nearly ) every evening ...

I watch in TV news what is going on elsewhere in the world , and I am happy that I am so old already ... would like to die of an heart attack one day , that would mean that I would not have to witness my own degradation . I witness the degradation of the once beautiful world ( Just think how nature was beautiful just 150 yrs ago ) ,

All I can think about this is how impossible it is for mankind to solve the problems they created themselves .

Not bound for further evolution , but for extinction it seems ...

Proof of the ultimate stupidity and the impossibility to work all together to reach one solution in an emergency situation .

Anyway , I am the fool on the hill that sees the world going down ...

I quite often mix it in with the  minor pentatonic to mimic the genre  in between Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber.

"Dystopian" is quite a commonly used word to describe a situation (usually misery) that is exactly the opposite of "Utopian"

Dystopia and Utopia (paradise) are not real places but only in one's thinking. You are only one thought away from either!

I am not part of the "dictionary police". You appeared not to know the meaning, though you knew, if you consulted - not swallowed a dictionary, you would have. But to save you the seemingly onerous task of looking it up yourself, I thought, without cynicism, to describe it briefly in an attempt to help!

Ah the joys of a more sedentary life lol ???? My dad had a hatred of flies. Nothing more did he love than fly-swatter in hand and driving their butts through the back of their heads lol ????

Well said ... does it mean that everybody lives in his own reality that is subjective only ...? And what is really ' real ' then ? Or is an objective ' reality ' , that is shared by most , only existant , because it is believed to be like this by most people ?

Well , reality might be more than we can know now  ...

oh , I need to go and take my pills ... 55

Ah Dystopian thinking. We used dream bout Dystopian thinking when I were lad (said in a thick northern English accent) lol???? Eeeyyy, those were the days by guum !!! (Monty Python styled caricature).

I admit to having a personality that has a leaning towards the darker shadow side! Not just a product of my psychotherapy training and work for 3 decades. I have to make a decision daily (sometimes often) to not open my mouth and do this, or to think to myself in darker hues.

I got quite absorbed during the total lockdown in Phuket back last year watching far too much of what sadly seems to be the norm of American political and social madness on Facebook. This was not good for me.

I don't think you're not misreading the Dystopian elements at large in our world today my friend. They seem quite real and influential amongst us. I profess no 'cure-all' or miraculous notion on how to manage such things. I try not to project; into my past or the future (<deleted> all over today when I straddle life in this way), or onto others, try to laugh and be a tad silly as much as is possible, do things that I enjoy and smile at others as much as possible, do small things for others and have no one know about it, don't procrastinate and do the next thing that's needed. If these seem to fall short or fail then open a nice bottle of wine and share it with someone I like, love, or lust after.

"You are only one thought away from either!", not, "You are the only one". Please use the whole of my quote to determine correct meaning!

In the meantime, may your "utopianistic" thoughts follow you wherever you go! No need to look it up - it is a kind thought from my heart!
