Good article here on vaccines from the Sydney Morning Herald relating to concerns about the Chinese vaccines. Interestingly it states that Pfizer efficacy drops from 92% for Alpha to 64% for delta.
Chile with a large vaccinated share of population with Chinese vaccines has seen a significant rise in hospitalization and death with the spread of Delta and have gone back into full lockdown.

that is shocking, Thailand should be looking very carefully at that

And yet, hospital admissions numbers until recently were predictive of future case numbers.

Here’s a clue: the number of people so sick that they don’t care about endless queues and incarceration is useful information.

Sure, it's useful information. But the absolute number is understated.

There's an unknown but presumably significant number of people who require treatment but don't get it. Worst case scenario, they die at home, either waiting for a hospital bed or not even realizing that their condition has worsened to the point that they need one.

There's some question about the accuracy of that 64% figure which comes out of Israel. But everyone knowledgeable does think that the Pfizer vaccine's efficacy is lower than it is against the alpha variant.

"However, experts have expressed doubt regarding the analysis of infection rates in Israel in recent weeks and the ministry's epidemiology team has also questioned it...

The models used by the Health Ministry have been called into question by health professionals.

"There are enormous methodological challenges in properly assessing the efficacy of the vaccine from local outbreaks," one health expert told Haaretz.

They squeezed in about 1,000 more hospital cases today.

of course that indicates future increases to come in the next days.

They filled the new beds created is what that is, did not squeeze them in.  More locations are being prepared here in the Capital as well to house the many.  Another worry, is for those that were evacuated from the fire zones and are being housed in other facilities.  I hate to say it but what is the chance that those in Samut Prakan may also turn into one of the newest clusters.  Are they testing those folks or not?

The climbing death rate is a strong hint that Delta is well and truly here to stay.

When is the first vaccinated global leader going to pop their clogs, and put a rocket under the dinosaurs <deleted>?

I stated that there was a decline in cases after April 28, as indicated by the chart, under the red arrow.

If you think I wrong, I am so sorry for you.

Two hours ago you said this:

“Actually, after April 28, there were 2 flat or declining weeks, followed by a week with a small increase.”

it’s not quite the same thing is it? Or time period.

other than that, you are exactly right, just as usual. 5555

Thai doctors’ group submits petition to Parliament calling for mRNA vaccines

A group of doctors, who call themselves “Mor Mai Thon” (Doctors won’t take it anymore) submitted its petition, bearing 215,409 signatures collected on change.org, to Thailand’s House of Representatives today (Wednesday), calling for mRNA vaccines to be the main type administered in Thailand for free, as well as for transparency in the government procurement processes.

The petition will go in the round file. The dinosaurs only understand the stick, the boot, and the gun.  Sadly, we're headed to a Myanmar scenario here, they openly make cliffs notes from each other on how to pull off the suppressive <deleted> that they do.

You can't get over that the time periods in the chart below are not lined up exactly with the appropriate dates.  Let me help you out: there is clearly a Time period shown in the chart when cases were flat or declining. That is when I stated the obvious: that case numbers were flat or declining.

it would be trolling to claim that I was wrong, at this point, and we don’t need trolls here.

Young people are gathering at the Public Health Ministry, calling on the goverment to provide quality vaccines to the people. They threw paint on effigies, symbolizing Covid-19 deaths in the country.

Unfortunately, all that will come from such pressure is an announcement that an order of one zillion doses of Moderna vaccine is being considered.

The CCSA are asking for people to avoid interprovincial travel in order to stop the spread of #COVID19 around the country. People living in the red and dark red zones are urged to #StayHome or at least in their own province. This is not the time for a holiday #Thailand

Top official – fully vaccinated people must wear double face masks against the Delta virus strain

With a surge in infections being reported on Wednesday, driven by the more infectious Delta variant of Covid-19, Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin, the government spokesman has warned the public that it will have to learn to live with a new level of threat from the disease. It comes as a top doctor at a Bangkok hospital has come forward to say he is aware of people dying at home who are not included in the official tallies. There is also an emerging demand for mRNA vaccines among the public and health personnel on the front line. However, the boss of the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) has warned that the much sought after Moderna vaccine will not be available until early next year.

More - a lot more
