rent a 2 bedroom house with swimming pool

Two bedroom houses generally don't come with pools, you may have better luck searching for a smaller house in a gated community that features a communal pool and clubhouse, you'll save a bundle on pool upkeep too as it's shared. There are several in Chiang Mai. Do check that the pool is functional, some places will have it as a feature in the website, but the pool and clubhouse/gym is actually an abandoned relic.

Patently you don't know Phuket in general, and Rawai in particular.   Rawai has many smaller properties with private pools, as well as larger ones.   Rawai doesn't have many gated communities.   At the moment in the current situation, I would put money on between 15/18,000 to 25,000+ per month, depending on location (within Rawai), furnishings and amenities.

10 to 15k but being responsible for your own pool and it's maintenance is an expensive hassle.

Yeah I can remember easily spending a few K on electric as well on maintenance and cleaning. Better to have a pool nearby to use or managed by condo, it is quite annoying to always need and let such guy in the house to do his job too, doing it yourself gets bored fast. It's like a gun, you shoot 15 minutes and then you get to clean an hour.

you've never been to phuket, right??
you could get a house in a gated community ( chalong area) with a shared pool for around 20,000-35,000 baht

if you desire your own pool, 30-200,000 baht

You'll find many more homes with pools in Kamala, Surin, Laguna area than Rawai

or you could go for a 2 bedroom condo with shared pool for around 15-20,000

Without doubt, Facebook and the various 'Phuket property to rent' type groups are the way to go.   No point looking at real estate companies as their advertised details are hopelessly out of date.

There's a good reason why Rawai is perennially popular.   It has a large population of both expats and aThais, and attracts local Phuket Thais to its amenities and restaurants, something that the core West coast tourist towns don't do as they're perceived as Farang centric with Farang prices.
