PHUKET: An Israeli man and his Thai girlfriend who came to the island together under the Phuket Sandbox scheme were married at the Muang District Office in Phuket Town yesterday (July 19).

The couple Nadav Gefen, 34, and Yanisa Chuchotethawon, 33, came to sign their marriage registration at the office, where Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and his wife Wandee Woonciew served as witnesses.

Also present as witnesses were Muang District Chief Somprat Prabsongkham and Mrs Yanisa’s parents, said a report by the Phuket office of the Public Relations Department (PR Phuket).

And this is newsworthy because  .....??????

A Jew and a Buddhist, well there must be something worth reporting

I think the clue was that was it was reported somewhere else where we can not mention is the fact she wanted a Buddhist ceremony later when restrictions are lifted. Maybe she is a Catholic and just fancied a Buddhist ceremony but don't think she was a Muslim by her style of dress

Because it is now Aseanow.com.

And there are people here who would not understand that the groom is an Israeli yet Israel is not an ASEAN country

It is not.

It's located on the continent of Asia (the western edge of Asia).

Cause it could be seen as a nice happy story in current changeling times. But do agree due to the negativity of the forum that its could also be seen as a tad too positive at the moment.

yes Israel is not in Asia it is in the middle east

The Middle East/Near East lies partly in Africa and partly in Asia:

Israel is in the Asian part:

Oh heck, let's go all the way:

Egypt, also in the Middle East, is a transcontinental country as it lies partly in Africa and partly in Asia:

Well to be on topic of countries in Asia why is there no mention of Turkey being in Asia and Europe? Much more interesting place.

So why are these people present ? Do they actually know the people getting married or are the trying to proclaim there is a massive surge in sandbox weddings and aren’t we brilliant at our job ! ????

A nice ceremony, where they all had, tea and coffee, and soda pop drinks to

celebrate.  How wonderful.  But hey at least it was not one of those Las Vegas weddings.

Geezer
