I thought that the security at the road bridge was supposed to check for this?

I am sure if it had been a foreigner they wouldn't have got through.

In a live broadcast this morning, Dr Kusak confirmed the person left Phuket for Chonburi yesterday having only spent nine days on the island as opposed to the mandated 14-days. Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and other relevant officers were also part of the live broadcast.

Who'd have thought this would happen.... sneaky Thais breaking the rules.

Time to rethink 14 days. How many days does Covid incubate before the test finds it? How many positives have they found after day 7 ?  Needs more thought put into this quarantine and what it is supposed to do.

What a sad pathetic set up, they want people to visit, but you do not as ordered we will prosecute you.

and so they should, he/she flouted the important part of the 'quarantine', no different to sneaking across a land border

It’s a strange world we live in. Someone sneaks from the only yellow province in the whole of Thailand, into a deep red province. Low risk to high risk you could say. And everyone from the governor down is up in arms.

They should be far more worried about people from chonburi sneaking into Phuket. That’s where the real risk lies.

sandbox has been overtaken by events elsewhere and remains a pathetic little side show to a genuine emergency facing the country.

That will look good for the tourist brochure..."Come to Phuket and Enjoy the Thai Smile and Lifestyle...oh yeah if you fail to stay the full 14 days...you'll be arrested and put in jail" "Contact your travel agent today !"
