webfact
The Delta variant now accounts for 95.4% of new COVID-19 infections in Bangkok and has spread to 76 out of Thailand’s 77 provinces, said Director-General of Medical Sciences Department Dr. Supakit Sirilak today (Tuesday). He cited random tests on 1,632 new COVID-19 cases across the country, which show that 91.9% of them, or 1,499 cases, are of the Delta variant, which was first identified in India, and has now become the dominant strain in many parts of the world. He said, in other provinces, the Delta strain accounts for 83.2% of all new infections, 16% are the Alpha variant and 0.8% the Beta strain, found only in Thailand’s southern provinces, with three new cases in Phuket and one in Phatthalung. Popular Post bdenner
Spread to most all provinces! How was that possible? Oh, silly me - free busses and trains. 2
Gsxrnz
I'm concerned with this trend of reporting statistics to only one decimal place as opposed to the obligatory two decimal places. It's unnerving - what are they trying to hide? 1 1

Instead of containment, they have deliberately sent/allowed patients to return to their home provinces because treatment facilities were overwhelmed in the main infected areas. There are Bangkok infected people self quarantining in a local farmhouse close to our place in Loei, and I've heard they are using a school in a nearby Tambon as a field hospital. These very social people find it impossible to keep separate from close relatives coming back home. They've completely stuffed up the vax supply and use strategy and instead are spreading the load all around the country. They continue to tell lies about it to a naïve population.

Songkran Festival was the trigger. but if there had been a travel restriction, another weekend would have happened the same spreading’s explosion as well. residents of Bangkok and infected areas often return to their places of origin. the same happened with immigrants, without naming the border strainer.

Songkran was a super spreader but not the Delta. The first Delta case was discovered on May 2 in Samut Prakan with a travel history to India, followed by more cases in Bangkok and far north Udonthani. Then on May 15 2021 hundreds of cases were uncovered in a Laksi/Bangkok work camp supporting construction of the Pink Line in front of me and the new Chulabhorn hospital behind me. Delta probably had been circulating for a while. History from Thailand submissions to the international GISAID database.

Designed to kill many over time. They have tried it in 20th century, but not as great as this one. Designers have much more knowledge regarding genes now. HIV could kill many people who chose not wearing condoms (or perhaps no access to) and now those who rather not to be vaccinated (or still not available to them) As we hear there are many people who chose not to be vaccinated around the world (USA death rate still high). RubbaJohnny
Part of the problem is no one takes responsibility. The political chocies the buck should stop with the PM? It is like the endless story of vehicle accidents, pregnancies, face jail ...do a runner The rich to Montynegro or germany the poor to mum's or the local Nokeen Shop or wat where they are scooped up by the supersleuths.
