Thai PM calls for clear 2022 vaccine plan - expulsion for officials who don't follow the rules

The PM stressed advance planning and transparency in providing first, second and third doses of vaccine.

This was needed to prevent confusion, he noted.

This has proved to be difficult so far, he said, because of dealing with producers.

But he claimed that so far "we have done quite well".

Unbelievable.

We have done quite well? Is that a referral to these rubber bullets?

As I said a few days ago .....  I expect Khun Prayut to come in and announce something to clean up this mess.

I can see he's getting frustrated and annoyed with producers, CDC, Ministry officials and Health officials.

seems they are not in coordination or planning mode. Why not draw up a detailed chart showing vaccine dates etc ...

Why doesn't the person in overall charge accept the responsibility? And for that matter the Minister of Public Health and all the little yes men under him?

He said he was concerned about the supply of Astra Zeneca as some of it would be out of date this month. Again he ordered the MoPH to get moving.

The people say you need to get packing.

so basically he is saying "Somebody do something, because I can't"?

Which planet is this guy living on?? Those who are willing and able to be vaccinated should be vaccinated, no matter what age or nationality. Its a no-brainer, just get everybody done as quickly as possible.

I thought the buck stopped with the PM......he should be directing his minions to do their job rather than just making public motherhood statements.

What world is this idiot living in!

In his own bubble.

He warned against corruption in the vaccine delivery promising especially in the repetition of names  that people found guilty would lose their jobs or be forced to resign.

Or maybe loose all there assetts that cannot be accounted for..

Does this mean Thailand will not be open for International tourism for fully vaccinated tourists without restrictions before 2022.

AZ "out of date". That's probably the batch i am getting next month.

wouldn't be out of date is you would send it out to the rest of the country, and not hoard it all

Cripes.  Isn't it a little early to be giving up on 2021?  Plenty of time left to come up with a clear 2021 vaccine plan.

Well, Ich and what is in 2023?

The way how it's going now I expect not an end with Covid in 2022.

So better to prepare for a 3. jab in 2023.

It clearly shows the dramatic failure of thai government's vaccination-politics .

I understand the strong protests on the road now and I am afraid that numbers of protesters and also violence will increase day by day.

If he has done so well, why are  the masses out on the streets, why is the house demanding his resignation, You have no shame Mr. Prayut!

on the off chance Thailand, at some point in the future, gets a leader with more than "84 000 brain cells", we will miss these comedic moments.

A couple of off topic posts dragging President Biden into the topic have been removed

I have seen vax cards with spaces for up-to 8 jabs.......So 3 would just be a start...

Maybe I'm delusional but did not the PM say previously a couple of months back he was taking personal ownership of the whole vaccine procurement and deployment? If so is it now his assumption that it is all back on track and the person actually tasked with doing it has now been given the job he was employed to do for next year!! The whole PM reign should be scripted into a series of comedy classics along the lines of Faulty Towers  as no one could ever dream this long running show up, fact is stranger than fiction people.

The one thing I can say without doubt is Thai politicians have the memory retention of 1 day only. Whatever they say today is forgotten tomorrow, so for anyone with a more than 1 day memory i.e. the voting public it is your worst nightmare as today's a new day and all change

You mean there is a need for genuine and effective Leadership? Quite right !

......  ineffective plans.

Wish we could see the final contract that put SinoVac at every hospital, and paradoxically kept any paid for Pfizer and Moderna out of the country thus far.

The "czar" has spoken.

That is the expectation globally to combat variants. Achieving the first 1 or  2nd is already a tedious process.

Yes, the time to do this was 2020, he's a little late.

Also based on this we now know they know this doesn't end for a very long time.

Lol, they've done a terrible job so far.

The ministry assured the PM his word would be done and no vaccines would pass their sell by date.

If that does happen and they restrict exports they will be ridiculed publicly throughout the entire world, like nothing that's been seen before.
