British Chamber Of Commerce Offering Vaccines to All

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Myself, and my thai girlfriend, and several friends, have all been vaccinated at the BCC facility at Bangrak Hospital in Bangkok

They say the AZ vaccine is available to all nationalities, and all ages.  If anyone else is in bangkok, or anybody willing to travel there (they will issue travel documents allowing you to travel to the capital) wants the vaccine, then email this lady and ask her for the form.  She usually arranges a vaccination date within the week or receiving your message i think.  The second shot will be arranged for 12 weeks later

<email address removed at recipient's request>

PS It's free

Why is it a risk going to bkk?

  • So why are they not giving Brits priority then?

  • They've been offering Brits a jab for sometime, they’re now expanding the criteria, they’ve offered my Thai wife an appointment for next week.   I have to say I’m very impressed with them.

A couple of weeks ago they offered me a jab in Bangkok, but as I live in Pattaya, I declined. I want to get my jab in Pattaya rather than go to Bangkok. It was a risk v reward decision for me.

I was vaxed 2 weeks ago at MedPark but my Thai tirak can't find a vax, so I just sent an email to BCC, if they reply and give her a date I'll drive her to BKK to get a jab.....thanks to OP for the link.

Sent an email and got a reply with a form/excel sheet 5 minutes later.

Completed it and returned.

Now waiting for 3 different ways to get a vaccine. Let's hope one turns up.

That's really good of you to share that information. I am sure there are others such as myself who did not know about this. I am surprised nobody else who already knew (who is a foreigner) did not share the love in the way that you have done. Opportunities for non-Thais to get a vaccination are highly sought after obviously. I hope that I am not too late and that they still hold stock. Thank you once again!

Bangrak hospital, is that in Chiang Mai near the British Consulate?

No they are not, I am a Brit in Thailand and I wasn't offered vaccination.

Compassion?  Unselfishness?  Not American, French or Chinese?

I got this from her a few days ago, it's Bangkok, not Chiang Mai as clearly stated in the OP...

cleardot.gifThank you for your registering for a Covid-19 vaccination through the BCCT.

Currently, we are working on a long list. We arrange appointments in Bangkok on a weekly basis therefore please continue to be patient.

No priority for the elderly, sick or pregnant? Where is the compassion and unselfishness there?

It was sarcasm.

Hang on a sec, I'm just getting my tongue out of my cheek.   There, that's better.

If you really want to be serious, the elderly are being catered for as are those with certain conditions (if that's what you mean by "sick").    If, however, by "sick", you just mean those who don't feel well, they're no priority.  What so special about the pregnant that they need priority, they're usually the younger members of society, aren't they?

Having said that, did anyone say that the elderly, sick or pregnant weren't being included by the BCCT?   Pretty sure no one did.

They seem to have kept it very quiet. This is the first I have heard of it.

There was a topic in the Health section about the BCCT initiative.

https://aseannow.com/topic/1222224-uk-citizens-seeking-covid-vaccine-in-thailand/

I signed up for it, amongst many other other options, and they sent an email update towards end of July stating that dates/appointments were being worked on and to advise if assistance was still needed as they had a long list of applicants. I pulled out as I had a firm option at that time.

There were also a number of mentions of this option in the many other threads on vaccination possibilities

From what I have heard, they are starting to "run out" of elderly expats (over 60) in the BKK area and obviously they don't want to waste vaccines.

The head of AstraZeneca Thailand is on the Board of Directors of the BCC.

I signed up for vaccine updates from the UK Embassy. The BCC registration site was publicised on there as are other sites where you can register.

I suspect, but don't know for sure, that the embassy have used the BCC as a means to get UK expats vaccinated rather than doing it directly themselves.

Diplomacy by its very nature is about getting the job done without any unnecessary fuss and bother, not publicly laying the law down to the host country. Mission accomplished if all expats get jabbed with a bona fide vaccine in relatively short order. This seems to be happening.

It seems to be an initiative to help people who live in the vicinity of Bangkok. Not much use to the rest of us! Why don't they make their vaccines available to Brits living elsewhere in the country?

They have only made their vaccines available to UK expats in the vicinity of Bangkok! So, in your words, it's mission accomplished if all Bangkok UK expats are vaccinated. Let's conveniently forget about the rest of the country! ????????????

Not sure I fully understand your comment, but would you like to expound on what way you think Americans have been prioritized for receiving vaccinations in Thailand?

I am being vaxed with Pfizer in Pattaya on Monday via the BCC scheme and plenty others will be till 9th Sept.

Anutin has said that vaccines are getting out to more remote provinces and I hope this is so. The dark red zones are being prioritised, rightly or wrongly.
