The planned reopening of Hua Hin to foreign tourists from October 1 has been made possible after Hua Hin reached its COVID-19 vaccination target.

Officials had said that 70 percent of the local population of Hua Hin would need to be vaccinated if the October 1 reopening was to go ahead.

Earlier this week, Dr. Suriya Kuharat, Provincial Public Health Medical Doctor to Prachaub Khiri Khan said, “As of 5th September 2021, Hua Hin has received 90,390 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine with 66,558 people being vaccinated”.

Here we go again, math Thai officials way, 1 jab =vaccinated. No,no,no, 2jab=vaccinated. Back to lessons I'm afraid.

Thailand needs to get its own house in order before starting to entertain foreign tourists and then they need to drop all the B S red tape and money gouging restrictions  - either open fully or don't bother, if you can't even open to your own local population how on earth are you ready for foreign visitors - all this is a political message to make the government look good in the news - the truth is something entirely different - "look we are opening up" just doesn't cut it on any level - Thailand is far from open or ready

I never knew there were living only less than 100.000 people in Hua Hin...

So what does open up mean? Only 3 PCR tests, no alcohol and fully vaxxed visitors?

70% percent of people registered in a Hua Hin blue book, or 70% of people that reside in Hua Hin.

They do realise that's two different figures, right ????

Blue book residents probably 30% o actual residents

Ask one of the local ladies... ????

In all bullsh*t on that. Just the other day they were saying there isn’t that many people that have been vaccinated in Hua hin and now, because they want to open it up, they are saying that, miraculously, now 70% have been vaccinated already. Is this figure including foreigners living in Hh too? I have had my 2 injections and for the certificate but only because I went to Bangkok (medpark hospital) and received it (Pfizer) free, otherwise I don’t think that I would have been able to yet. Thailand, always the same, money number 1.

No blue book, no vaccine - that's the latest I heard.
