Car Auctions In Thailand

Featured Replies

Has anyone been to or preferably bought a car from a car auction in Thailand?

If so, what were the prices like compared with retail used car prices?

Thanks in advance.

Note to mods... If you feel the need to move this post to the motors section, then just delete it because nobody ever goes into that section.

I've been to Union Auction in Chiang Mai, personally I found the cars to be more than I expected and didn't buy. Maybe a 5% reduction on average prices you see in the second hand shops around give or take. To buy from auction I was expecting 15 to 20 percent lower than second hand shops.

All big ticket items are not cheaper at auction in Chiang Mai .

Why is that ? All is controlled . Need the controllers to be out of pocket before any change will occur

I hear there are hundreds of idle ex taxis cars already with a fully stocked vegetable patch on their roofs, you get a cheap car AND a veggie garden thrown in for free...
