From the latest news yesterday on the 4000 tourists there were only 400 real tourists all the others had come either for work or partial residents with their own homes or or they have a family here in Thailand.

If this average is maintained, a maximum of 50,000 tourists will arrive over 4 months of high season.

TAT you should do the calculations again otherwise the teacher will give you a bad grade.

"TAT you should do the calculations again otherwise the teacher will give you a bad grade." And therein lies the problem, they all went to schools where, even if you got the answer 100% wrong, your teacher wasn't allowed to give you 0 points. So what we have here is the uneducated, preaching to the invaccinated the unachievable.

  • Why don't they mandate it - order visitors to change up 60k-100k at the airport - track them ensuring the money is spent unwisely at the malls and chain restaurants - when the money is dwindling quick

I believe the keyword in that sentence is If.

  • If they can get the Thailand Pass to accept their documents, they can come.

<deleted> Aseannow is getting very boring and repetitive. Thailand 'expects' millions of tourists, Thailand 'expects' to produce a vaccine, Thailand 'expects to be a world class hub for another pipe dream.

I 'expect' if my auntie had a c@(k she would be my uncle.

So, 3,000 intrepid  visitors per day.  Say 300 passengers per plane.  So, 10 planes per day?

The airport will not be exactly "swamped"....

I read an article in the last few days that stated that airlines have cancelled eighty or ninety percent of their slots for the next five months.

Obviously they are not expecting any great demand for travel to Thailand.

Postings too are getting boring and repetitive. Same rinse and repeat brigade of moaners.

15,000 between November 1 and 5? My guess is rather 150, or 1,500 at most - Thailand is an unbeaten world champion in predicting wrong figures.....

LOL and you don't think covid and all the new government restrictions that are just starting to take place is not going to change your freedoms in the near future worldwide

The mandatory covid insurance, does that cover the hotel costs a forced quarantine if one tests positve on arrival ?

Read the requirement carefully, it is "medical insurance" that must include covid cover, this forces people into a much larger policy and of course higher cost.

...... I just bought a lottery ticket AND  I expect to win the jackpot ????????????????????

national income of no less than 60 billion baht which is about 1000b per person

Why not just make it an even billion arrivals projected, it would be just as believable

Hope some of them are "directed" to go to Chang Mai! Yesterday's "Top Story" :-

"Chiang Mai has ZERO bookings from foreign tourists

The chief of Thailand's northern hoteliers' association was forced to admit on Sunday that there were no foreign bookings at their hotels."

who knows how much will they spend !!!  bear in mind most places--bars  are closed /gone !!!!  ow ah

To dream, the impossible dream...it's that or some real strong dope someone's smoking.

: )

I am sorry to say that you definitely have the wrong approach: it will never work and too difficult to control.

Bear with me

1) Upon arrival the traveller is offered a complimentary debit card from the bank of their choice ❤️ and ????

2) Granted a one way transportation to the bank where the above cited amount is deposited ????

3) Transportation to the hotel ( both) paid with the debit card ????‍♀️

4) Upon departure export of currency not being allowed,  ???? one may spend the rest in duty free ????

And what is not spent …. ????

it is a win win situation ( not for the visitor ???? mind you )

This site should have a pinned thread for the daily deluded fantasy statements from various government departments.

Right now, it is a Laurel and Hardy show, but it is OK to be optimistic. I don't think Thailand will ever regain the same status as tourist destination as before the Covid. One thing they need to do if there should be any chance, is to stop all their Mickey Mouse laws and regulations regarding expats and tourists.

I hope your user name is simply indicative of having a penchant for Goncharov's novels and not a representation of your nationality being from that writer's country because if it's the latter, the above statement would be a laughable contradiction.

Do these tourists from Japan get special visas to visit Thailand. With an Embassy taking 3 weeks to process a visa application how is it that 15,000 Japanese can get a visa and visit Thailand before the 5th November?

Don't think for a New York MINUTE they're not trying to figure a way to do this!

Some do, some don't. If it were me, I'd make sure it did.

I'm confused, it's obvious that millions of foreigners love Thailand and are desperate to come here, yet all the ones that live here seem to moan all the time.

60K approx. 1.8K USD

The revenue given approx. 200USD for 1 day quarantine including the first COVID19 PCR test + the second PCR test before departure is 120 USD that's 320 USD of the 1.8K USD directly leavening 49K THB to spend on hotels, food, transport etc, etc. over a say 14 days holiday averaging 3500 bath/day.

Possibly.....

And “Expect” 555555

1 mill 'arrivals' sounds about right, though don't know how many will be 'tourist'.  That's IF there isn't an oops along the way, and very doubtful, as 6 more provinces just made the 'watch list'.

https://www.thaipbsworld.com/6-more-thai-provinces-added-to-watch-list-due-to-rising-covid-19-infections/

IMHO ... I expect more restrictions or even a lock down again after the new year.

They have cancelled the slots and all went to Portugal to a bar …. It was either that or a Temple near BKK… So it was Faro here they come “;0)

Same old BS predictions, They just spit out whatever they dream up. No consequences for repeatedly making false and inaccurate predictions. Fools
