Popular Post BKK57 Posted December 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 10, 2021 If you're from the USA your Thai drivers license will work, no need for Intl license. Thai drivers license has picture and English as well as Thai, that's all you need. I verified this with State Troopers in Pennsylvania and Maryland a few year back when I was in the States. 3 1

Is the Thai license enough for the rental car companies. I'd guess yes? 1

Scouse123 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 I don't think there is an International driving licence, I think there is an international driving permit and some countries recognize it and some don't. With a Thai Driving licence this is recognized in the UK and can be driven on and used for up to a year after which you must take the UK driving test. 2
LikeItHot Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 There in no such thing as a an IDL so no 3 hours ago, BKK57 said: Easy enough to call them and ask. I think yes, but I used my brother's car when I was in the States. Rental or borrowed the license is still at issue

Correct nomenclature Scouse ????; A "permit" is very different to a "license". Every (most) countries has a specified time limit you are allowed to drive a vehicle in their country with an International Drivers Permit then you gotta stop and get a local license. 2

Popular Post MrJ2U Posted December 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 10, 2021 You can get an International Drivers license Online for 5 years validity. All you need is a current valid drivers license. They'll mail it directly to you. 1 3

DefaultName Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 In the UK, you can rent on a 5-year Thai licence, it's considered a valid full licence. I've done it. You cannot rent on a 2-year Thai licence, it's considered as a provisional licence only. 2
