Along the same lines, I was into manufacturing.  Specifically engineering.  Our company had various engineers and as a westerner I was shocked to see how many female engineers there were.  We had one in particular, Sine.  I used to call her Sigh.  I don't think I need to explain why.

Not long after I arrived she had asked me out to dinner.  Still hurts to have to remember this, but I had to let her know I was already taken.  Her face looked bruised.

It takes real guts for a good woman, especially a reserved Thai woman, to ask a man to share a meal with her.

Honestly, this is one of the more poignant paragraphs I have come across on TV, among many.

I just hope that you treated her gently, and also tried to boost her ego a bit, in the process.

For example, you might have referred to the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

Due to Entropy, no two particles can remain together, for long.

Maybe a maximum of 50 years.

Sooner or later, everybody becomes a single particle, and each particle eventually decays into nothingness.

Therefore, a missed dinner date means nothing in the grand scheme of Physics, in this universe.

But, you never know, maybe this engineer enjoyed sharing a meal with you in another universe in our multiverse.

At the moment, I am watching the Webb, day by day. The Webb is just about the most exciting thing that has happened to me in my life.

I just hope that I can live long enough to see Webb reach its full potential.

Compared to this, a missed meal with you, or anyone, is small potatoes.

Within 6 months, we can begin to celebrate the success of the Webb.

I will splurge on a cheese plate full of that expensive blue and white cheese that is not available here, called Stilton.

I would be tempted to give up my dream of seeing the success of the Webb, almost, just for a kilo of Stilton, right now.

Haha, well I didnt call you guys looser? Did I ? That is your label. Yes, I had health issues, and I made a trip to Thailand, and after two weeks with massage, walking the beach, kayaking, sun, food, I came back with the asian fever, and never looked back. It saved my life to be true. I managed to restart my life, and I believe the sun, vitamin d, change of diet, getting back to gym just came along nicely after I almost had giving up. No doctor or nothing I tried back home had worked for a decade, and here I came to life again.

I guess my story is not so different from many others.

Correct. Not different from many others.

You are talking about the rejuvinating power of Thai culture.

As you say, perhaps many of us would have been dead, without it.

No other country has it.

You are lucky to be among the chosen few.....

7.5 billion people on Earth, and only 75 million in Thailand.

Count yourselves very fortunate, and never complain.

Yeah, it was highly unusual by Thai customs for her to make a move on me.  I was taken back.

Treated her gently?  Heck, I was balling like a little girl when I told her I was unavailable.

Last time I saw her see had visited me in the condo my girlfriend and I were staying in at the time.  Can't remember the official reason for dropping in.  But I think she realized that in this particular universe of multiverses probabilities for the two of use had hit a dead end.  I'm sure in some other universe we're happily married with a half dozen or so babies.  <Sigh>

Not the best pic.  She usually wore her hair down.  Perhaps due to the constant breeze she tied it back.

The Webb.  Consciousness is mobile.  Would be a lot cheaper to go OOB in my humble opinion.

Cheese.  I was living in a Franciscan run boarding school in Germany for a time prior to the Church relaxing the rule of meatless Fridays.  Every Friday during Abendessen, what we called our evening meal, and which was much lighter compared our afternoon meal, I went to Heaven.  A generous variety of breads and cheeses.  I could live on bread and cheese.

And just to help exacerbate your suffering, GammaGlobulin, since I'm such a nice guy.

I'm just shy of living 20 years here by a few months and I have yet to go to Samui, Krabi or Phuket.  I prefer mountains to the beaches.  But that's not a good enough excuse to miss out on experiencing such beautifully clear blue waters.  Just look at those waves, drenching everything in wetness!

Just to prove all those disbelievers wrong who say Santa doesn't deliver where there is no cold and snow because there are no chimneys.  Santa and his helpers have their ways.

Exactly. White chocolate is so ridiculously over rated. Dark, baby dark.

Just as well we all like different body shapes. Your second choice is an automatic fail for me given her large boobies.

You and I could safely go gogoing together, as we would never be competing for the same women.

Wow. Do not know what to say. Yes, you are right. Whatever it takes to be inspired! I do love the fact that the local men do not find dark women to be attractive. Better for the rest of us.

I've been aware over many years of Thai women coming on to farangs, free nights just because they want to try a farang, going with farangs for food etc.

Usually an urban myth. Probably as rare as the well known "international fast food chain" fried mouse urban  myth- always happened to a friend of a friend.

Is she even Thai? If she is, why would she be wearing pantyhose outside in Thailand?

Thai-Chinese?  Bangkokian Thai?  Pantyhose part of the outfit?  To whiten her legs?  I'm no Sherlock Holmes but it's fun trying to be.

Perhaps.  Perhaps not.  How many beers would it take, TBL?
