Flying to UK, is PCR in Thailand still required?

Featured Replies

I know the restrictions have been lifted since a few days ago but is PCR required to enter BKK airport?

no any test was ever required to enter BKK airport or fly from here.

Just watch for singapore airport, if transiting through there.

To enter the UK you just need an antigen test

I just had one done and cost 790 Baht .

Check the airline and stop over point to make sure they will allow you entry

Type of test

The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.

This could include tests such as:

  • a nucleic acid test, including a PCR test
  • a LAMP test
  • an antigen test, such as an LFD (lateral flow device) test

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england#type-of-test

Up-to -date guidance for England (since Feb 11):

"If you do qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England, you do not need to take a test before travel."

What individual airlines require is up to them. I haven't heard of any test that is required to enter Bangkok airport to check in.

If you are fully vaccinated, you don't need any kind of test for England now, either before or after you arrive, but some airlines and transit airports have their own rules. You still need to complete the passenger locator form.
