Popular Post problemfarang
Hi, I am just wondering why immigration dont give people full information. Well, we all check their websites... we use this forum for information, we ask people..blah blah etc. But we never have the info we need! Here is an example: to get non-o visa (if you have thai wife) web site says evidence of marriage or something like that. But what is it? is it the paper work.. no! is it marriage certificate.. no! but it is photos... so why they just dont say it or write it on their website or anywhere else?! Why they dont say you need a photo in front of your house with house number with your wife?! Is it too difficult to do that? why they dont?! Even the list at their immigration office. its totally not clear! why they dont make it clear, update... What they ask or post, or what many people tell you on this forum is mostly different then what they want at the immigration.. so why?! same for the immigration! what they post is totally different then what they want when you go to immigration!!! why?! i think everyone understood already whats my point and my question... why they dont just give proper info???? whats the catch!? Popular Post CharlieH
Grasshopper you have much to learn.???? You are applying western logic, doesnt work. This is the land of inconsistency. What works at one office may not and usually isnt ok for another. Depends mostly on who you see on the day. Even if you are given a list, dont rely on it, as it eill invarably be added to on the day, just because they can. Welcome to the immigration roller coaster, where every ride is diferent, buckle up ! 17

Herewith On this form pictured below my own listed number 15 is the photos required in order of all photocopy papers presented to immigration for our yearly marriage extension. Even if you get everything right on the list they will still pick you up on something that's what we find. ballpoint
Seeing the way some people dress and act in immigration offices, and reading comments about their staff on sites like this, then if I was a Thai immigration officer then damn right I'd have some fun with the applicants. Popular Post KhunLA
If you want to know, simply ask. If having a wife, then she can read the list when given to her, and anything she doesn't understand, she can simply ask. Don't ask, then expect a surprise or 2 when submitting. After your first application, all is answered. It doesn't get any easier to stay in Thailand. Prove residence + income. Marriage if applicable, and that takes 5 mins, if that, at district office. Mind boggling that people can't seem to do the simplest things. Cooking a new dish, following a new receipt can be more complicated. How did some of you function before coming here.

I never had a problem with Maesot immigration now some of the staff where we go now deserve comments made as I see it as there practices are unprofessional and intimidating as we see it. The last visit we found a rivalry amongst the new head person in charge and the regular staff, the staff were saying an item was acceptable as it was the presented the same as years before and it was being over-ruled which is unacceptable.

To be fair Bangkok Imm (Chaeng Wattana) seem straight and it's where I obtained my Non-O and do my own extensions etc. Others I know get the run around and pushed to use agents at provincial offices. Even those who have the right credentials are often frustated into using an agent. In Bangkok last year I was scolded for supplying a scanned and printed copy of my passport rather a straight photocopy. I learned my lesson. Thanks god they do not understand sarcasm. Been here 11 years still a relative newbie. Converted to retirement extension on my own and have been dealing with the same immigration department for the whole time. The only challenge I had the first few years was the location of the imm office due to flooding. Those that have used PT for a few years will understand. I learned from the beginning take everything and anything that they might need. no matter whether they asked for it last year or noT. The probelm for a lot of people is the large office immigrations where there are numerous people and you never get the same one. My suggestion move to a smaller area just not Pathum Thani. Just a reflection of thought here. Your statement does, in fact, support the pot you address. How is that? Because another person can be faced with a different experience here in Thailand. I certainly am happy that you have not run into inconsistencies, and I certainly acknowledge a good deal of this is brought on by the person involved … still inconsistency is a known quality when dealing with laws/regulations. Not for everyone but a significant number of foreigners.

Never seen the Sukhothai immigration busy yet, I think that's why they keep us a long time talking to my Mrs for something to do. There's lots of papers for marriage extension, I always put them in proper order but I always say leave the date off of one of the forms so they can find something it works and makes them happy. ????
