No answer on which weapons they used then? Can't say I'm surprised.

How should I know which weapons they used? But suppose they used western weapons, you said to expect an unpleasant response. Hence my question: unpleasant for whom?

Only they know that but considering Kursk is around 50 miles inside Russia what do you think?

You really need to keep up

Ukraine war: Ukraine can hit Russia with UK weapons - minister
It would be acceptable for Ukrainian forces to use Western weapons to attack military targets on Russian soil, a UK defence minister has said.

Still waiting for the consequences since April when the UK said it was ok to do so.

As I've remarked before, escalating this conflict is likely to end in nuclear war. I'm quite surprised that so many posters seem eager to see everyone they know die.

Russians are not learning from their mistakes. Hope they continue down this path and keep sacrificing huge numbers of troops on insignificant objectives.

Never trust the Putin barbarian, while he was privately aiming to take the whole of Ukraine, on the 24th Feb on his widely publized speech to the world he said:

“Our plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories. We are not going to impose anything on anyone by force."

Zelensky aide reveals up to 13,000 war dead

Up to 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since the start of Russia's invasion, a senior official has said.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said between 10,000 and 13,000 troops had died.

It is rare for Ukraine to give figures for casualties, and Mr Podolyak's comments have not been confirmed by the country's military.

Russia’s shortage of munitions (exacerbated by logistic challenges) is likely one of the main factors currently limiting Russia’s potential to restart effective, large scale offensive ground operations.

Underestimating the Russians is a recipe for defeat. How long have I been hearing this. The Russian MIC is quite capable of running this long term. The West needs to get its act together. They're going nowhere. If you can't stop Russia, then your credibility tanks. God knows what happens with China.  We're leaking countries. People are looking and they see who is the top dog.

Putin fan boys/trolls/shills/FSB (take your pick) apparently have nothing better to do:

I personally suspect Wagner after their public display of terror sending the European Parliament a bloodied sledgehammer.

You could very well be right. Whoever it was, this is probably their idea of “subtle”.

Kremlin Rejects Biden Terms For Ukraine Talks

The Kremlin on Friday rejected US President Joe Biden's terms for Ukraine talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying Moscow's offensive will continue.

"What did President Biden say in fact? He said that negotiations are possible only after Putin leaves Ukraine," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding Moscow was "certainly" not ready to accept those conditions.

Live: Scholz urges Putin to withdraw troops for 'diplomatic' end to war

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to seek a diplomatic solution to end the war in Ukraine, including troop withdrawals, Berlin said following a telephone call between the two leaders. Earlier on Friday Russia rejected US President Joe Biden's terms for talks between Russia and the US.

Noteable headline switch from Thai Media although the article content is roughly the same from Reuters and the talks were rejected they decided to run with Putin is open.....lol

Putin is open to talks and diplomacy on Ukraine, Kremlin says

President Vladimir Putin is open to talks on a possible settlement to the conflict in Ukraine and believes in a diplomatic solution, the Kremlin said on Friday after Joe Biden suggested he was prepared to speak to the Russian leader.

Biden, speaking beside French President Emmanuel Macron, said the only way to end the war in Ukraine was for Putin to pull troops out and that if Putin was looking to end the conflict then Biden would be prepared to speak to him.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov struck a dovish tone when asked about Biden’s remarks, saying that Putin remained open to negotiations but that Russia would not pull out of Ukraine.

Overestimating Russia has been going on for a long time, until early this year.

It has all gone downhill for Russia after that, can you not see this?

"The world second best army" could not even get it right against a much smaller country.

The Ukrainians are fighting our battle in their country and they are the ones dying and suffering.

The least we can do is supply them with enough weapons and gear to chase the Russian out and that is what is happening now.

The only other way this could end is Putin running full speed into a bullet

and a total regime change in Russia.

The people are slowly getting fed up with all the bs they have been getting and that will start to have effect also.

In the past the Russian have always waited for winter to help them win, this time it could be winter that is defeating them.

Freezing to death in a fox hole while hungry and having low moral is not what i would call a good thing for the Russians but great for the Ukraine.

A battle lost doesn't mean the war is lost.

Only need to look at Britain beginning of WW2, Disastrous retreat to Dunkirk and almost the entire army captured, but rebuilt over next 3 years to defeat the Germans.

IMO some posters read far too much into too little.

One has to look at which side can last the distance in a long war. If the NATO countries currently sending arms decide the cost is too high, and stop- what then for Ukraine?

If the current financial situation deteriorates, will taxpayers continue to accept spending billions to support a war they are not even fighting in?

I wish Putin’s daddy had ‘pulled out’ about 71 years ago. Then there would be no Putin and maybe we wouldn’t have this problem right now.

but he didn't.

Could say same about Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Ghengis Khan etc etc etc.
