Thailand’s Prime Minister Office reminded the public on Monday that the government has no control over rising global energy prices, noting that it will propose relief measures to the cabinet next week.

As the United States and allies are exploring a ban on oil imports from Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine, crude oil prices are rallying to its highest level since 2008.

“The fluctuation in prices of global energy, including Ukraine invasion, are out of the government’s control,” said Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana.

Sitting at the head of a table in a military uniform everything is your fault ????

Just hand it over to Anutin. He has the pandemic completely under control. We know this because he said so. World oil prices should be a doddle for such a genius

Thailand currently produces about 1/3 of the oil it consumes annually. You'd think they might have some reserves to offset this kind of the crisis in the short term. Given how much seems to leak out in to the gulf, perhaps not.

Relief measures for the price of Fuel should be rolled out for Business use only IMO.

This should mitigate to some extent the impact of rising Oil prices Globally, upon the economy, and help to restrain an ever increasing, what appears to be" run away " Inflation.

Any ordinary person that has bought a Car, on cheap finance, while gasoline and Diesel prices were low, should be subjected to the real price increases.

The time for enveloping these people in a Candy Floss, and Little White Bunny World has to stop.

This is the real World, where sometimes reality hurts a little.

They are already controlling it.

10 days ago, 1 litre Diesel in Kanchanaburi 35,XX

Last Friday at Shell in BKK, 39,7

Over the weekend, oil went up over 10% and I was surprised seeing at the same Shell station that Diesel was 38,54

A drop of 3%. I was expecting something closer to 42

I reckon soon TAT comes up with a plan.
100 Trillion visitors from Scheina, Ruskilandia and India and we bring the oil price down to 12$ a Barrel.

That's not his military uniform. It's a civil servant uniform, same type teachers and other civil servants wear every Monday and on other official occasions

Surely a mistake, everything is under his control because of the emergency decree.

Just nominate himself as the oil Czar and it will change nothing as well as all his other policies.

I'm pretty sure they will have no qualms buying Russian oil

I hope so, as surely the EU isn't going to stop buying energy from RU.   Especially Germany.  USA is now still buying.

I thought this guy thought he can do anything. Even stop the tide coming in . Oh hang on . Was that another idiot

So the so called free markets everyone is always reminded of are actually manipulated and controlled by govt so are not actually free.

it's nothing something that can be changed at the flick of a switch, but if the EU does't change its energy purchasing strategy it's going to find itself even more bent over a barrel. pun intended.
