KhunLA Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 After 6 months, just noticed the MG ZS EV 2022 doesn't have a navigation app ???? No loss, as wasn't a fan of the TomTom app in the ICE version. Guess that's obvious, since a couple road trips and just now noticed it not there ????

Are you sure about that, that would be very strange and my ZS EV does have a Navigation app. Also, in one of your earlier posts, you posted this pic which shows a shortcut to a navigation app: 1 1

Yes, I don’t know what is happening with this, there’s reports of some BYD lines slowing down production in China so maybe they had a rethink.
Andrew Dwyer Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Another BYD car available here soon, a big price for a 95 horsepower + 180 Nm car, but spacious ( contender for the MG ES spot ? ). Andrew Dwyer Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Summary of the 1st 7 days bookings at the Motor Show compared with the interest shown at the EXPO. At the EXPO lot of interest in BYD, but at the Show possibly hoping Seal availability or the Dolphin price is too rich makes for some poor sales figures so far. Good to see MG up there with the big boys , with the MG4 and the ES no doubt going to be a good result for them. Incidentally while the Motor Show is on my local Mall ( Ayutthaya City Park ) has a Mini Motor Show but it’s usually quite weak . MG showing the MG5 and the VS HEV and not a newly released model in sight, why even bother ?? 2

Bandersnatch Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 Bangkok Motor Show March 2023 Answers provided by staff on the stand. BMW I consider the Chinese made iX3 @ ฿3,589,000 not good value but the iX1 has a UK price of £53,000 ฿2,200,000. I was told by BMW staff at a previous show that BMW Thailand were hoping to assemble the iX1 in Thailand to be able to benefit from the EV incentive. Unfortunate the non electric X1 is already ฿2,200,000. Currently all iX1s are manufactured at the Regensburg plant which would incur an 80% import duty into Thailand. Staff on the stand said that iX1 for Thailand would be manufactured in Japan (20% import duties) and is not coming this year. 2

Popular Post Bandersnatch Posted April 1, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted April 1, 2023 Bangkok Motor Show March 2023 Answers provided by staff on the stand. BYD Seal An extremely popular car at the show and in person it looks great, but not in the same league as the Han. Staff on the stand said that the seal will be coming to Thailand next year and the price has not been confirmed. I really wanted to sit in the car as I currently driving a comfortable SUV. The seal is a very low slung car and it wasn’t that easy to get into. The driver’s seat auto moves back when you open the door making exit a bit easier. The seats are a very light colour which seemed to already be showing signs of dirt, buy my wife seemed to think that they were supposed to that colour! I didn’t find the seats very comfortable. It seams to be quite a sporty setup. Atto 3 Forgot to take a photo at the show but ended parking next to one the way home - much bigger than I thought it was. Comfortable to sit in and the interior is not as weird the YouTubers make it out to be. Dolphin At ฿8xx,xxx a very good value car also quite comfortable to sit in. Denza D9 (BYD/Mercedes luxury brand) Luxury people carrier - going to be expensive 3

It is known as the Maxus Mifa 9 in China. At the show it was available for prebooking with a ฿20,000 deposit which entitles customers to double that amount in discount. Staff at the show said that price and delivery had not been confirmed. In Thailand, the Maxus 9 will be offered in two grades, starting with the X and the V which will add run-flat tyres, genuine leather upholstery, improved powered front seats with massage, heating, ventilation and driver’s side memory functions, VIP-style second-row captain chairs. I had to queue for some time to see these cars as they were probably the most popular cars at the show! Due to the crowds I have included some photos from PaulTang.org so that you can get a clearer view. 2

We have puppies in the house and didn’t want to do an overnight. Travelled down on Thursday heading back at 3:30pm with a 9:30pm ETA but got stuck for 2 hours in Korat climbing a giant hill - big trucks in all lanes in stop go traffic. Was able to use my traffic jam assist for the first time (adaptive cruise control for slow moving)
Bandersnatch Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 Motorshow also had a used car section - mostly high end vehicles with no prices listed. Couple did catch my eye. I always liked the Honda e but it didn’t sell well - expensive with very small range. Original ZS EV - reasonable price 2

Was able to use my traffic jam assist for the first time (adaptive cruise control for slow moving) Reason I asked if it was you ( seems a bit silly now ) i was travelling from Nakhon Sawan to Ayutthaya Thursday morning and the traffic was busy, close to Ayutthaya a row of cars passed me in the fast lane. A red HS was being tailgated by a police pickup and the HS pulled into the middle lane just long enough to let the pickup go by then pulled out smoothly behind him in a kind of “ I’d rather have that tw@t in front of me than behind me “ kind of move. A sort of move I would do myself and seems a bit “ British “, Thai drivers don’t seem to care about what is behind, or even what is in front for that matter ! So, the time sort of fit as you had mentioned you were 4 hours out earlier and i seem to think you have an HS , could be red ?, so i put 2 and 2 together and got ……….. seven ???? I have mentioned before that my mind wanders on these long straight roads ………… as you were.

If in traffic, then to guy behind is really going get p.o.'d, as I'll slow way down for a safe distance to the vehicle in front of me. Till he backs off or passes me another way.

Bandersnatch Posted April 2, 2023 Author Posted April 2, 2023 Anybody remember the Honda Benly CD200 from the 1980s? Well now there is an electric version. It costs ฿4,500 ……….per month! Apparently you can’t buy the bike outright but have to lease it. It works with a Battery Swap Station, coming to a food delivery service near you
