Wow you say something and then contradict yourself ! No, how can anyone find the first person who had it.  No , not all phuket is at risk.  No, we are not all at risk. No, unprotected sex is not the only reason for catching this virus.
Any close contact at all , an innocent person touching an infected arm for example, can be contagious.
No, it is not a gay virus, it can infect anyone, children , adults , family,  from close contact.

From another post:-

"From CNN today:-

"4 days ago — Anyone can get monkeypox, but in the latest outbreak, the virus is predominantly spreading among gay and bisexual men."

For reference - issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Health (24 July 2022):-

1. For suspected or sick cases:

In case the person shows the following symptoms: rash, itchy blisters on the body, palms, soles, feet and face, accompanied by fever over 38.5 degrees Celsius and headache, swollen lymph nodes, muscle and body pain, low back pain, Exhaustion, along with a history of travel to places where Monkeypox is endemic, they should be kept in isolation for immediate medical check-ups or immediate referral to a nearby hospital.

2. For the general population:

Practice good hygiene and clean living by cleaning your hands with soap and alcohol and prevent respiratory infections.

Avoid direct contact with people with the disease or suspected individuals, including sexual contact, especially skin or blisters, until the disease is cured.

Avoid touching the patient’s or suspected patient’s equipment, such as clothes, pillows, plates, spoons, glasses, water, etc, and wash the equipment of this person separately.

Asymptomatic suspects should not be subjected to sedation and can work normally, just being careful not to touch others during the 21-day follow-up

I wonder what will happen now ? Personally, I think he should be cured first ( under supervision) and deported back to Nigeria. He’s obviously a crook and cannot be trusted. Spreading diseases around is not my idea of an honest person. Also having had overstay and problems in Cambodia.

So any close contact at all can cause infection which means that we are all at risk - same as Covid?

The Nigerian man has been caught in Cambodia.

How did Thai immigration not catch him when he tried to live Thailand on overstay?

The report also said he had unprotected sex with a woman. 142 people in Thailand are now being screened for the Monkeypox, no thanks to this selfish man.

God knows how many people he infected in Cambodia too.

From my understanding Covid can be airborne, so coughing , sneezing, touching things, can infect people nearby . ( that’s where wearing a mask works, and for the mask wearer he will not spread Covid so easily , and hand washing of course). Also being in a closed room  and close contact helps spread Covid.

With Monkeypox, I think you have to have physical contact, as the virus is in the rash/ little bubbles .

which rupture on contact with people . That also means their clothes, bed sheets , towels, are infected as well. So if you don’t go round touching people, or let them touch you, you can’t catch it. The authorities have warned the hotels/ condo etc he’s known to have stayed in to disinfect everything!!
The rash/ blisters/ bubbles can be on the whole body. So unprotected sex or not, makes no difference with monkeypox.,

I pity the cleaners who had to touch his bedsheet and clean his toilet when he was in Thailand.

It is believed he illegally crossed into Cambodia at a "natural" border crossing, just like many of the migrant workers do to enter Thailand.

"The man was believed to have crossed into Cambodia on Friday after his mobile phone signal was detected in a Thai border province............................................ did not name the province or the neighbouring country but his presentation showed the location as Sa Kaeo, which borders Banteay Meanchey province in Cambodia."
